They are trying something different to spread the gospel nowt wrong with that
They have been tying to spread the gospel for donkeys years, when are they going to realise that hardly any fucker wants to watch that shite in the North of England nevermind London and the South.
It’s nothing to do with spreading the gospel, it’s to do with spreading the WRLFC brand because as I said we apparently get a bit if corporate attention when we down there and Lenegan wants to gain some more blue chip sponsors. We’ve even opened an office down there.
That’s all well and good, but it hasn’t worked in the past, isn’t working now and will never work in the future because their just isn’t the interest.
They, along with the RFL should be concentrating on the local fans and possible new fans in the small area of the country that there is at least a slight interest.
The whole game of RL is becoming a laughing stock as straws are being grasped all the time without any headway being made.
As a fan yourself, you surely can’t be happy with yet another home fixture being played somewhere like Millwall were they don’t give a damn about your sport.30 July 2015 at 3:06 am #143561Since RL took the dosh off sky it has been going downhill the fact that even the beeb have shared highlights with $ky for the CC shows that the sport is non marketable to the general public tis all about tv audience folks and RL does not tap the sporting public at large.
sad but true

It’s got nothing to do with trying to get new fans. It’s about trying to get new sponsors. How it will work I have no idea but Lenegan spends 90% of his time in London and believes that it will.
As a fan, no I’m not happy because our away form is poor but I’ll be happy if we pull a deal from it.

“Sad but true” !! You fuckin hate peanut huggers! :)
30 July 2015 at 1:31 pm #143574“Anyone know what pub the Millwall boys drink in? Planning an ambush before the game. Fire. Chairs. Bats. Madness. They’ll be drinking in a pub somewhere near Port Vale that day. In case you weren’t aware, 3rd division clubs still have fixtures on international weekends.
Back on topic, this is a move that has just about alienated all Warriors fans from the chairman. As egg says, its all about sponsorship and the fans have been firmly placed in the category of 2nd class citizens as IL goes courting a few quid from rich businessmen whilst sticking two fingers up to the 10,000 who shell out over £200 per year for their seat.
I live closer to the Den than the DW, but there isn’t a cat in hells chance that I will go to this fixture, and I hope everyone else does the same, leaving a big hole in IL’s pocket.

What’s that got to do with anything? He wasn’t referring to the rugby game. A bit of news for you – no-one gives a stuff about peanut hugging.
He wrote that in June about football.30 July 2015 at 1:55 pm #143577I disagree.

Clearly, some of you do give a stuff. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t spend time speaking about it.
30 July 2015 at 2:11 pm #143578Giving a stuff about something and finding something amusing are different emotions.
30 July 2015 at 4:30 pm #143585At last after many a year of falling out and the odd fisty cuffs along the way Millwall fans feel the same as the tics fans :woohoo:

We voted against this shit before when someone wanted to dump this silly northern game on us. So they chose Fulham instead. I think the vote was 98% against.

Catalan Dragons ??? – surely they must be a fire hazard?
Where’s the Health and Safety Executive when you need them.
The idea of loads of Johnny Vegas types wandering around Bermondsey is like a Monty Python sketch it’s so surreal.

The game is free for season ticket holders.
We paid for 14 home games and the consensus was always that if we get 15 then the 15th would be played away from home.
I’ve no issue with that at all and feel that the more sponsors we have the better. If we bring £2m a season in in sponsorships and TV deals then the money we make from merchandise and ticket sales can go towards signing better players and improving our training facilities. I’ve no issue at all with that.
The issue I have is that we have been dreadful away from home this season and this could massively backfire on us. Hopefully we win the first 4 games, cement the playoff spot and the result has no bearing.

I didn’t realise all ST holders had purchased their ticket on the understanding that a 15th home game would be played in London.

MORE HOME GAMES
And the best thing is that with a Warriors 2015 Season Ticket you will get access to every Super League and Super 8’s game at the DW Stadium, regardless of whether that’s 14 or 15 home games.
As part of the Wigan Club’s commitment to growing the sport, should the Warriors qualify for a 15th home game we may take one of the Super 8’s games on the road to another city in the UK. More details will be announced mid 2015.
31 July 2015 at 2:04 am #143596Can’t argue with that.
Can you, mutty?
31 July 2015 at 2:42 pm #143597No argument at all with that Egg and it gives a plain and simple explanation to my original query.
31 July 2015 at 5:56 pm #143610Ditto.
I wasn’t aware of the T&C of ST purchases for this season. Perhaps Egg needs to go back to C&W and remind those who’ve boarded the outrage bus that their ST only covered 14 league games at the DW.
That said, its still a slap in the face for the 10,000+ fans that have attended the DW for each of the previous 11 home league games and I suspect ST sales will fall next season when people read the small print a bit closer.
