There’s been a few mixed reviews on our possible new signings (Beausejour and Maynard). A lot of people asking why we are going for these players.

      1. We are the lowest goalscorers in the whole football league and a club like ours has to take a punt on championship goalscorers. At £2m he is a bargain and very young. His wages won’t be high, he’s english and he’ll be hungry to succeed.

      2. I’ve seen a lot of we don’t need a winger, why we signing another winger, etc etc. Beausejour can also operate as a wing back/left back, this is a position we need to strengthen and for me, Jones isn’t up to it, he’s a central midfielder playing out of position. If beausejour lines up on the opposite side to stam we will have a lot more balance going forward and defensively.

Yes, we do also need a central defender and maybe a centre mid but there’s a lot of speculation over possible loan moves so lets see.

Playing the 3 defenders with wing backs will work with stam and beausejour, this then leaves Boyce to be used as a centre back and Jones to operate more central. We would be much stronger BUT whether it will be enough, who knows!

At least its some fresh face because me if they stay as they are then the club wont get past 20 points trust me.
It isnt much but at least its something

Pretty much agree with most of that Alex , and must admit didn’t realise Beausejour could be a wing back option.

I’d just add that in the final hours of the last window we signed three players ( PVA , Maloney , Crusat ) none of whom made any immediate affect. This time we must sign players who will come straight into the first eleven and will make us stronger than we were. We don’t want any more fringe players !!

I still reckon we need a leader on the pitch and reckon Jason Roberts would be ideal , both for his playing ability and his leadership / experience. With Maynard looking likely , I don’t think that will happen though – unless of course someone was to go out ?

you just never, we certainly need a few players in and for me we need a goalie if Ali gets injured or suspended were down to Pollit or maybe Nicholls, and that will surely send us down.
