Well ,what can I say ,talk about after the Lord Mayors Show. We never really got going.Very flat performance ,crowd very quiet, what a difference to Saturday. MK Dons fully deserved their win what a pity one of the smallest away followings ever at the DW was there to witness it. Big improvement required now on Saturday at Wimbledon.Up the tics !
I don’t know about shuffle the pack but he does need a plan B for when we play a decent side who take the game to us.
He also needs to play players in position in games like this too. Also stop the reliance on wing backs getting crosses in and use the pace of players like James McClean to get round defences and get crosses in.
A bit less Cook and bit more Jewell would help a lot.
I was surprised we did not start tonight with the team that finished the game at Bolton. Bayliss started off OK but he faded badly ,we looked better when Max Power was pushed into midfield late in the game ,a change we probably should have made at half time. On the whole ,too many players had an off night against a lively MK Dons side.
They played well, all credit to them. How did their GK not get booked for time wasting though? Some really poor decisions especially first half.
We just looked drained from weekend. Too many easy passes went astray and a few poor decisions with the ball.
I thought Bayliss was terrible and should have been dragged off at HT if not before. Their number 8 was given far too much room and he looked a lively player.
I wouldn’t dwell on the result too much though and I don’t think we need to go changing things too much. We’ll sort it.
The second goal should never have been allowed but that said a very poor performance by recent standards.
The game plan seems to go out of the window at home games of late.
They played like we do away From home and reaped the rewards.
Think we will see more of the better teams playing like this going forward.
A big game on Saturday to make sure this was just a blip.
I think you are right Egg , the team was very flat last night and let MK Dons dominate and dictate the pace of the game. Compare that to Saturday where we were in Bolton’s faces and did not let them settle. The atmosphere last night was also very subdued ,it’s a pity we can’t replicate the brilliant away support for miserable wet Tuesday night home games .Maybe I am being too critical ,I think we were all a bit hung over from Saturday. As you say hopefully it’s a blip ,we need to put it right against Wimbledon.
Bayliss was superb today and hopefully won’t get slagged off like he was unfairly after the Dons game. Daks got mullered from their number 30 on Tuesday and yet nobody as had a go at him, the new boy was an easy target..
To call a player not good enough after one game in the real first 11, was nothing short of a travesty. Well done Mr Bayliss for bossing midfield today, your passes reminded me of an old favourite of mine who also used to get slated by a good many Wigan fans, the one and only Jeff Wright.
We lost on Tuesday cos MK Dons won every battle. We won today cos we did including Bayliss.

To be fair the whole team were poor on Tuesday very lethargic , probably a result of putting everything into the Bolton game . No excuses this Tuesday , win and we go back to the top of the league .
