Reece James for me; that lad is immense and can’t believe that he is only 19.
However everybody did well:
Jamie Jones; nice to see our own player between the sticks. Thought he commanded his area well.
Naismith; this lad is growing on me.
Morsy & Evans; slower than the QE2 but battled really well in that midfield.
Audrey Roberts; brilliant goal & always gives his all.
Pilks; should be a fan’s favourite if he keeps that type of performance up.
Windy; I like this guy, he holds the ball up well and never stops trying. With a few more goals he will win the fans over.
Joe Garner; he lost me £30 today, by scoring that penalty. Hey Ho, I’ll just be happy with the 3 points then ! He put a good shift in, even though he’s not easy on the eye.
Crackers; welcome back with a Lee McCulloch type header !
Keep it up Tics.

13 January 2019 at 2:48 am #175130Tough one, but Reece James does seem to be Mr Consistent. We may as well just give him all the awards now. Has anyone actually ever outpaced him yet?
13 January 2019 at 2:53 am #175132Jamie jones for me.
13 January 2019 at 2:58 am #175133Jamie did great but didn’t have one shot to save.
13 January 2019 at 3:00 am #175134Jamie did great but didn’t have one shot to save. The same leaky and usually all over the place backline looked well assured though.
13 January 2019 at 3:16 am #175135Pilkington was smashing.
Pilkington was crackin’.
Jacobs ….. just for a bloody good goal.
Reece!! Has to be.
13 January 2019 at 3:41 am #175136I have to say that, just like last season, I feel our defensive line with Jones in goal seemed far more assured and calm. Whilst Walton is a terrific shot-stopper, for me, Jones edges it over Walton because he has a far better “presence”. What I mean by that is he talks (or read that as shouts) to his defenders so they know what to do. A prime example today was a dangerous cross whipped in by Villa that Kipre was going gung-ho for, until he heard the call from Jones and ducked under it for Jones to come and collect. I’m afraid that we never see that from Walton – in fact we see the opposite (e.g. Leeds).
For me, Jones in goal was a good call from Mr Cook today!
13 January 2019 at 4:30 am #175139I feel that whilst most fans can see the bigger picture one or two can’t and still believe we will be in a relegation fight.
With just one decent signing and one player coming back from injury we have beaten a promotion favourite. Just think what we can do with a decent center half, left back and Powell and Massey back.
However Cookey is out his depth and taking us down according some. Hope you still come on here and say that or you are what you are, the opitomised fickle fans! From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!13 January 2019 at 12:44 pm #175150Jamie did great but didn’t have one shot to save.True, very true! But i got the feeling that the defence in front of him felt much more comfortable. His command of his area was also second to none.
As i have said elsewhere, i felt more comfortable in that one game yesterday than what i’ve seen from walton all season.

Spot on!
13 January 2019 at 1:14 pm #175153Reece James is a good call. He’s fast, strong on the ball & his quality makes him stand out from the rest. Bigger things to come for that lad.
13 January 2019 at 10:17 pm #175173Probably Samy Morsy, Nathan Byrne or Michael Jacobs. Everyone else was a crap Paul Cook signing.
