I am going to assume that Craig Morgan’s 2 year deal is a consequence that Caldwell is about to return. I know Morgan has had injury problems but his face didn’t fit this season so why 2 years? Caldwell is on his way back.

Fuck the EFL
1 April 2017 at 1:26 pm #157421Wasn’t it Caldwell who tried to force Morgan out to Sheffield Utd at the beginning of the season ??
2 April 2017 at 2:11 am #157454Why would we have the man back who has contributed so much to this season’s shambles?
2 April 2017 at 8:10 pm #157464I quite agree, I don’t want him back, but watch this space

How have you come to this conclusion?3 April 2017 at 12:49 am #157478I have it on good authority. I don’t believe in idle gossip. Morgans 2 year deal and Matt Jacksons demise are part of the deal. The board think they made a mistake. Unbelievable i know.
3 April 2017 at 12:51 am #157479You heard it here first. Barrow also to stay
3 April 2017 at 12:59 am #157480If Caldwell comes back it will be the daftest decision in the clubs history. No chance whatsoever in my opinion.
3 April 2017 at 2:00 am #157481Caldwell?? Take the Cald out and replace it with a Je and we could be talking about something special.
Would doubt it very much that our greatest ever manager could return but there could be some role he could play in at least getting us to play the Wigan way.3 April 2017 at 1:12 pm #157483Caldwell?? Take the Cald out and replace it with a Je and we could be talking about something special.

No chance.
He’s as out of touch with football these days as your wardrobe is with fashion…. (I’m just guessing at that bit regarding your wardrobe)

Exactly. He’s more than had his time in the game.
I don’t get the “bring Jewell back” love fest. It’s like the scousers when they brought back Dalglish. Forget him and just enjoy what he did for us.
3 April 2017 at 9:11 pm #157491I agree Paul has been out of the game a good while but my post was in reaction to potentially having Gary back. Please God not that. Everything on the manager front just depends on a couple of things..What sort of wages they would get and the size of the war chest.

But I understand why many wouldn’t, and I’m not sure it would be a good idea considering he was sacked and there were rumours of disharmony in the squad.
I expect the wages will be low and I can’t see there being much if any war chest – which will put off most candidates.
I honestly can’t come up with a name that would apply for it and that would fill me with excitement if he got the job.
3 April 2017 at 10:46 pm #157493If we go down, then I fully expect Graham Barrow to be offered the job to try to steer us back up again.
If we stay up, then it’s anyones guess, but I wouldn’t put it past us to offer it to Graham as a reward for keeping us up.
Whether he wants it full time is another matter. Being 64 he may not want the pressure and might be happy with a role behind the scenes with little or no involvement in first team affairs just to tie him over until retirement.
I personally hope we are looking to be a bit more ambitious with the Manager situation irrespective of what league we are in, but I am not holding my breath.
