Hope everyone is well
Life is very different at the moment, no sport, working at home or potentially on furlough
Personally I normally travel around the world with work and am away lots during the week so am benefiting from home working and family tea nearly every night, not travelling and staying in hotels is also beneficial to be old waistline , quite nice in a way. Down side is sales have collapsed And it is difficult to get customers to pay, which brings many challenges18 April 2020 at 2:49 pm #186039Strange days indeed. Won’t last forever and guess its important to see the bigger picture. Must admit the sitting down for tea thing is a new one to me and it’s nice to have that time. Just noticed on another forum that Alex Cribley is in ICU with Covid. A true latics legend on and off the pitch.
18 April 2020 at 3:02 pm #186040I saw that aswell Roy, all our best wishes go to him and his family for a full recovery very soon.
It is a weird time, you get up each day and do the same mundane things never really knowing or even caring what day it actually is.
I never thought I would miss the day the wife said, ‘come on, lets go into town and do a bit of shopping’.18 April 2020 at 3:40 pm #186042Strange times indeed, but not much different for me, still going to work in a factory, iam a key worker apparently, trying their best to social distance people but not possible all the time and very frightening when this all started, roads very quiet travelling too and from work, the worst thing is not seeing family and friends and going to the match and having a pint with my dad, hopefully a vaccine is found soon so we can all get back to normal, stay safe and up the tics.
18 April 2020 at 8:32 pm #186043I’m same key worker only change is at weekends with no holiday makers on site and bars closed anyway I haven’t been behind the decks since lockdown started. Problem is drinking too much now at weekends coz theres basically nowt else to do. Stay safe all
18 April 2020 at 8:48 pm #186044I’ve been watching old bond films with the kids, and playing monopoly and cludo
18 April 2020 at 11:18 pm #186045I’m onto my 4th bottle of gin since lock down and my weddings been totally stuffed up.
But this is small potatoes to whats really going on.
I really really hope Alex Cribley gets better, legend and corner stone of Latics through thick and thin. C’mon Alex!!
Stay safe everyone
18 April 2020 at 11:50 pm #186047I’m on a rota to go into work, which is on skeleton manning (about 12 on my floor instead of 50). I was in the week before Easter, last Tuesday and my next time in is next Thursday, then 1 May. I have bits that I can do from home, but there is not much demand for what my organisation produce at the moment, so I am on a health kick, walking around 15,000 steps a day, PE with Joe Wicks, fixing my fence, keeping the garden tidy and burning meat on my BBQ that I got for Christmas. We all sit together and eat each evening which is quite novel.
Oh, and we got a puppy seeing as my wife is furloughed and my daughters uni is suspended until September.

And with news coming from the barcodes mutt life must be hell for you. Imagine how insufferable the feckers will be when the takeover goes through. Hope it’s a false dawn

Hope it’s a false dawnFrankly, I couldn’t give a shit about them at the best of times – in the current climate, I really couldn’t give a shit about them!
We’re two divisions apart and wont be playing as evenly matched equals for many years – in my eyes, we are no longer rivals and they are as relevant to me as Man Utd, Everton or Leicester.
On a separate matter – welcome back Bullitt who seems to have broken back in after a few months of exile. I note that a national emergency hasn’t affected your petty mindedness.
19 April 2020 at 5:56 pm #186052Not sure why u r called bar codes mutty , u don’t really see red bar codes, I don’t think they scan very well. I assume when we have stripes we are also barcodes?

20 April 2020 at 2:42 pm #186057Strange times indeed. We arrived in New Zealand for a little holiday and bike ride on 13 March. We managed to get to the airport for our flight for the bike ride, checked our bags in and then got them off as the AMAZING NZ PM said only essential travel and then lockdown.
We’ve been with some friends for 4 weeks on their life style block and I feed the chickens at 5.00pm, plant trees, cut grass, split logs and dig holes deep enough to come up at the centre spot at the DW.
Somehow in the circumstances of hundreds of thousands dieing football has paled into insignificance.
Flights back have been few and far between with fares at eye watering prices from £1500 upwards one way, the sky is not the limit as to how high they try charging, and shortly after you book the airline e mails and says the flight is cancelled you are moved to …. This can happen 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 times.
The UK govt have put on 5 flights to get the thousands of brits back. Elderly, special needs, medical conditions, families with under 12s first. My wife and I are front line NHS staff, but we are not priority!!! If it weren’t for a job and an 84 yr old mother in law I’d almost certainly stay.
We are staying in Martinborough, a fine wine area and we cant get our hands on the bloody stuff because of this rubbish lockdown!
Jacinda, who is GOD, in my eyes. She makes a certain johnson and his team look like incompetent dimwits who are performing in a circus that only employs clowns. What can I say? Sack them all; keep Cookie. Jacinda for manager. Manager of the world.
