Samy Morsy has extended his contract till 2021.
Maybe our new owners are now starting to show their intention with January almost here.

Hope it’s Nick Powell next.
26 December 2018 at 12:59 pm #174344If Powell signs I’m sure it will be so we get something for him in the summer.
We’ve now 13 players due to leave either out of contract or loan ends in the summer so expect lots of movement in the next 6 months.
As for Powell ?, we should have cashed in in the summer. Turning down £8-£10 million for me was bad business. If he doesn’t sign he’ll leave on a free which is mind boggling for a club the size of Wigan26 December 2018 at 1:48 pm #174345And had we sold Powell you would have done nothing but moan that we sold our best player

Also there wouldn’t have been many fans at all who would have supported the sale.
He is class and needs signing up asap.26 December 2018 at 11:01 pm #174366And had we sold Powell you would have done nothing but moan that we sold our best playerBullox, I would have said a good bit er business for a player who never plays 90mins and goes down if you fart near him
26 December 2018 at 11:24 pm #174371Agree……potentially a class act.Reality is a long way from that….
26 December 2018 at 11:39 pm #174372And had we sold Powell you would have done nothing but moan that we sold our best playerEveryone wanted to keep him…….with the intention of a new deal. If that wasn’t on the table (and we still don’t know that) it is verging on negligence to turn down a reported £10m. That sum could fund the club’s losses for a year or more. Or should we choose, help with a recruitment drive, to bring much needed quality into the club.
27 December 2018 at 12:01 am #174374Its bad business on our part. We’ve always managed to command decent coin for some our better players and some average ones as well.
Surely the club would have enquired to Powell’s agent. I suppose the 12 month take over didn’t help.£10 million will have gone a long way to bringing in a couple of half decent players in Jan and try stop the rot. It certainly won’t stop till we do.
27 December 2018 at 1:57 pm #174392If he is as crap as you all suggest then nobody will want him anyway will they
27 December 2018 at 2:06 pm #174395Powell’s injury is a constant worry and to be fair he hasn’t really been on his game for quite a while now. Is it time to bite the bullet? Who knows but as things are he is not quite the valuable asset we once thought he was!
27 December 2018 at 7:58 pm #174397If he plays in half the remaining games scores 6-7 goals that helps us get the points we need to stay up, he will do for me. There’s a long way to go with a lot more twists and turns to come. Seasons don’t finish at Christmas, but if they did we would have done enough to stop up. Bow your heads in shame those who have given up on us. Yes we are on a terrible run, yes we can get out of it with a bit more luck on the injury front and better finishing. All the best for the new year boys, most of us are still behind you.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!27 December 2018 at 8:21 pm #174398Wonderful sentiment I agree but playing half a season and 60 mins in the ones he does make doesn’t justify a long term mega deal as that’s what his agent will be angling for. I hope he does commit and gets on top of his persistent niggles. Another season blighted by this and age makes it more difficult to recover will tarnish his reputation albeit a way over the top one.Fit he would be a massive asset in the championship, talk of Prem quality ….a mile away!!!
