Doesn’t take these agents long to smell a pot of gold does it? Strange he chose an African website to exclusively reveal this.

Nigeria international, Victor Moses on Wednesday turned down an offer to extend his contract at Wigan Athletic, SuperSport.com can report.

The 21-year-old has just a year left on his contract at the Latics.

The player’s agent, Tony Finnigan, told SuperSport.com on Wednesday that his client does not his contract at Wigan Athletic extended.

“This is how it works here (in England). Victor Moses has just a year left on his contract with Wigan Athletic and we were about to start talks on the extension when he said he does not want to sign a new deal,” Finnigan said.

Several English Premier League clubs have been alerted since the start of this year following the failure of the Latics to convince Moses to extend his stay at the club.

On Monday, Aston Villa were the latest to track the Super Eagles’ striker as they reportedly had their chief scout, Glenn Roeder at the Emirates Stadium to watch the youngster inspire his team to a 2-1 win over Arsenal.

Finnigan said “virtually every club in the (English) Premier League want to sign him.”

He pointed out that the attacking winger is in the class of the most wanted footballers in the English top flight.

“Victor Moses has played himself into a position where virtually every club in the Premier League want to sign him. All of the Premier League clubs will be strengthening in the summer and we are not surprised that Moses has been linked with virtually every team in the top division,” the Englishman remarked.

Moses has been linked with Liverpool, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Crystal Palace man has made more than 30 appearances for Wigan this term and has scored four goals.

Moses was signed by Wigan from Crystal Palace for a transfer fee of £2.5 million in 2010.

Isn’t this the same agent that got Ellington to sign for WBA? Oh yes he really knows how to get the best for his players.

I see Tony is upto his old tricks again. probably smelling another percentage cut.

In all honesty i will not be that bothered if Moses decides to part company. It took him a very long time to actually get established and break into Martinez’s way of playing. For me he has been ok but nothing close to what we have had in n’zogbia and valencia.

not sure on his contribution in way of goals and assists this season, maybe someone could throw them up, but i dont recall him being so good that every team in the premierleague will be after him.

To be fair to the agent, if you go off what is said in this quote then it is Victor Moses himself who has instructed his agent & latics that he does not want to discuss a new deal

personally i think he’s getting a bit ahead of himself here. He’s improved this season from last & even from Feb/March onwards & I think he’d be better served with another year developing at Latics where he can iron out the faults in his game i.e. his poor final choice of when best to pass or shoot & the quality of that pass/shot when it comes.
If he goes to one of the bigger clubs at present I think he’d either be stuck on their bench for a while or if he went straight into the starting line up he’d soon have the crowd on his back as the big money signing who’s either too greedy or his final ball isn’t good enough. In much the same way that N’Zogbia & Ellington before him have found out

The major thing about the team at present is that they are playing as a team, and not relying on one player like last season with N’Zogbia.

Moses is for me one of the weaker links in the team. Yes, he has pace etc but his decision making is atrocious. We don’t rely on him and he won’t be missed. If we stay up we’ll have players queuing up to come.

He should stop listening to what he wants to hear, and listen to what is really being said.

I agree Garswood, that we are playing much more as a unit and not relying specifically on one player. I think we can live without Moses i just hope we extract as much cash as possible for him.

I liken him to Valencia in his early days, in that he improved so much at his time at Wigan. I think if Moses had another year he might be much nearer this level but its all about his contract and we can’t afford to lose him for nothing.

The annoying thing, if we lose too many players, is trying to retain team spirit and it has took a great deal of effort and time to finally strike the right balance on the pitch. But hey ho this is Wigan and those are our financial perameters.

I agree with most of what’s been said about Moses on here but I think he’d be missed more than some people think.

It has taken him a while to get established as a first team regular but he is improving all the time. I agree with Garswood that his decision making can be atrocious but I wouldn’t say he’s any sort of weak link.

Our position is still very precarious and form is temporary, class is permanent (or lack of class sometimes in our case). We’ve had a great run recently and we’re all basking in the sunshine of plaudits from the media and other fans but we should all be wise enough to know that we could just get tonked by Fulham on Saturday and be back somewhere near to square one. Fingers crossed we don’t though and we carry on in recent style to the end of the season.

Monday’s game was high profile and significant and the Moses hype was amplified. Sure, he’s not the finished article and not quite as good as some people make out but for anyone to suggest that we can be genuine contenders without flair players like Moses are mistaken. When he does go, it will be quite a loss to us imho.

Yeah it will be a loss, but our strength comes from knowing we have done this all before over the past seven seasons. We’ve seen them come and we’ve seen them go and we have managed to survive and are becoming adept at performing this balancing act.

That gives us an edge on those teams that are having to come to terms with financial restrictions in that this has always been the case for us.

Next season the teams who came up and are doing well i.e Norwich and Swansea, will find it hard to keep all of their players or at least keep their wages down. Then there are other teams such as Villa who are tightening their purse strings (£40,000 wage cap apparently), and so we are in the position of already working to these restrictions and can therefore cope better with losing personnel.

The other promising area is having so many youngsters out on loan and i am sure the likes of Dicko and Mcmanaman feature in Martinez’s future plans.

Banjo fair shout that. i may be too harsh to suggest he can go and it have no impact.

its also nice to see a discussion going on for once without name calling, backbiting, fishing strategies and martinez hating.

                  well done chaps.

the world is a happy place (for now) :cheer:

I agree that he would be a great loss for us – our style of play requires a fast skilful player like him to attack teams on the break. However he is not the finished article by a long way. As others have said his choice of final ball is often woeful and I also question his overall workrate. At the moment our amazing performances have been based on our workrate and total committment to the cause but sometimes I don’t think Victor is quite on the same page as the others.

It might not be too difficult to persuade him to stay however. A “slightly ” improved contract and someone showing him how the many others before him have found that the grass isn’t always greener and we should be able to get another few years out of him.

Of course all this transfer talk is precisely what we don’t need at this moment in time. We are still in a relegation dog fight and need everybody focused on just that.

It was only a couple of days ago about Martinez not being here.
Really take notice of all this crap?

It’s blindingly obvious people are trying everything in their power to disrupt us. Refereeing the latest not to work, so now swith attention to this.

Victor is a terrific player and has been an asset to us. As for shooting, it shows a lot of confidence in his abilty and I think he’s terrific.

And let’s be totally honest. Neither Victor, his agent or indeed us still have no idea what league next year. When did his agent supposedly say this?

Don’t be gullible enough to listen to this crap. According to the media next season will start without Maloney, Martinez, Diame, Rodallega, Moses, Whelan etc. Remind me, how long has Figueroa supposedly been going?

It’s the tip of the iceberg plenty of chirping from agents to come in the next few weeks have a look at the players out of contract this summer

Yossi would be pretty handy to have.

didnt realise maynor and diame were up for expiring. Be a good transfer window if we can get diame to stay.
