A quote from a DailyMail Online podcast “Away from home Wigan actually take a fair number and really get behind their team in good voice” by Mark Chapman last August.
And that’s true that the away following in terms of noise is good. 4500 Bolton fans at Wigan aren’t louder than 3000 Wigan at Bolton …. no chance. Even with Bolton gaining a positive result at the DW and us (in the cup) having to play another game we didn’t want to.
But, the DW is very quiet now as it’s never a full house
The atmosphere at DW is nothing short of pathetic…
Sat in the west stand for the first time against blackburn where apparently showing support is a certain no no :naughty:
People in the west stand fear raising their vocal support to highly as they think I believe (for instance myself), that they may be surrounded by opposing teams supporters who have got in the stand on hospitality tickets or watched two games previously to sneak under the regulation radar and that could somehow incite trouble.
