So far Latics rank 24th in the Championship for shots on goal (on target) per game.
I’m surprised that we are that high up!!!!!
A very worrying stat. Even before Joyce we were hammering sides but not putting any shots on target. Our play in the final third is woeful.
Just like the camera never lies, the stats don’t either! Some of the attempts ( I use that word very loosely! ) on goal that I have seen have been laughable for professional footballers. Jacobs is the worst offender for poor shooting!

You do all realise that a slow trickle through to the keeper counts as a shot on target, while a razzler that hits the bar or just skims the post is off target?
I wouldn’t get too hung up about stats.
