Young players are a little bit like melons. Only when you open and taste the melon are you 100 per cent sure that the melon is good,’ Mourinho said recently.
‘Sometimes you have beautiful melons but they don’t taste very good and some other melons are a bit ugly and when you open them, the taste is fantastic… One thing is youth football, one thing is professional football. The bridge is a difficult one to cross and they have to play with us and train with us for us to taste the melon.
‘For example, Scott Sinclair, the way he played against Arsenal and Man United, we know the melon we have.’

Sorry, missed the point totally. Is he a good or a bad melon?

What a gimpster post. You failed to note that it was over 3 years back and also did not say whether he said he was good or bad in relation to melon. Weps

i think he is most like a water melon- when you look at them they are quite impressive – but cut them open and they are tasteless and very very disapointing.

Sinclair isn’t disappointing..Very good player if given the chance IMO.

Been fishing lately LMB?[/quote]
just come back from 2 weeks in ireland – complete disaster -2 section wins in 12 matches and a measly £100 in winnings to show.
oh and i managed to share a pub with the enniskillen branch of the chelsea supporters club during our feeble submission to them-not the most pleasant way to spend a sunday afternoon.

I had to share a stadium with 40,000 of them….
Now let me think, pub or Stamford Bridge, ……….

now let me think :-
2 weeks off work fishing in ireland – lads only, no wives or girlfriends to miether, pub every night (something your wife will never let you do)
remember a bad days fishing is better than a good day at work(or watching martinez’s crap)
or :-
a day out spending a fortune, watching another disgraceful performance served up by an inept manager who has broke all latics records for losing displays this season.
no contest
and dont try and make it look you are a better supporter because you happened to go to one game i didnt- ive bought the tee shirt on that score,
but nothing not even promotion games have got in my way, when it comes to my annual ireland trip.
LMB I’m surprised (because you normally see the irony in my posts) at you, the little green man in my post was supposed to signify envy, i.e. I’d much rather have been in the pub that day.

sorry about that david i must be a bit touchy today ive all ready had a row with 2 suppliers this morning and a phone spat with my missus over the serious subject of what to do for tea tonight(pathetic i know)
in truth i would love to have been at chelsea to watch the game but i have learned to prioritise over the years

Mrs Griff has already told me that there will be steak and chips on the table when I get home in good time for me to settle down to watch the match and without fear of having to bath the little one which would otherwise interfere with the digestion process. She will also go swimming just before 8 and leave me in total peace until the match is finished. 8-)
I do hope she isn’t getting a few complimentary ‘lengths’ at the pool. :?
