I dont see how loaning him to Italy will help him. Even if he scores a bag full he will still have to adapt to the pace and physical aspect of the English game all over again next season. To do this he has to play games, prefarably with another striker next to him.
It won’t help him one iota, but if the manager came out in the press and said ‘He’s not up to it, and we want rid’ Genoa would be rubbing their hands together knowing they could get him on the cheap at the end of the season if he does well for them.
Make it sound like you’re loaning him out with the intention of him starting for you next season, and you’ve more chance of the club he’s been playing for making a fair bid for him.
