There were so many good things about today’s game, I can’t believe that the same old harbingers of doom are still at it.
The team is still “work in progress” but:
1. I wouldn’t swap Thomas and Diame to have Palacios and Cattermole back.
2. West Ham are a good team with real quality but they were second best today.
3. The commitment shown by the players was a joy to behold and shows they are pulling in the same direction as Roberto.
4. We have some real class in this team which will only take two or three additions to make it our best team ever.
5. I am really enjoying the new style of play and never dreamed we could be anything other than a “direct” team.
6. Bramble was immense again today (which stones are his critics hiding under at present and will they emerge once more at the first opportunity?).
7. Although Charles N’Zogbia didn’t have his best game for us today, he is absolute class but will unfortunately become our next big-money departure.
8. Koumas is like a new signing and just shows how the style of play can make a player look good or awful. He probably can’t believe his luck that Bruce has gone and has been replaced by a manager who values skill more than brute force and ignorance.Before anyone comes out with the “rose coloured spectacles” garbage – yes I can also see where we need to make improvements and where we have weaknesses but I am sure Roberto can see them as well. He doesn’t need me or anyone else to constantly give him the benefit of our footballing ignorance.

PS Specsavers are doing a deal on rose tinted spectacles, get down there and get some – mine are superb.

Well said owd git, I didn’t personlly think we were as good as you make out, but as you say WHU are a decent team, and we prevented them from playing.
We were well deserved of our victory today, roll on Arsenal.
