That is the first time i have been in quite a while and the last time i will go in quite a while. The comparisons i drew from my last two visits are startling. The last time i went there was a sense of euphoria, hope, belief and banter.

I walked up onto the concourse, Hardly a word being muttered, I could see the drain in the regulars faces. There was no atmosphere (on the concourse or in the ground) people just standing there as if there was a firing squad ready to pounce. At half time i walked straight to the beer bar without encountering a queue. Inside the ground all i could hear around me (i was in the west stand btw) was everyone effing and jeffing at the referee constantly for no reason whatsoever. I could hear the slating of Cowie before he even entered the pitch. The anticipation of Fortune making a mistake. I could almost hear the venom from the people behind me about him before they had muttered it. They couldn’t wait for him or Cowie to make a mistake.

My take on the players tonight was that Bong looks very bog standard. Ojo showed signs of ability but i can’t see him being a wold beater, too eager to hit the deck. Pearce will probably end up a good leader. Pennant showed signs of ability too but just at the DW for a last pay day, Looking to dive too much also. McLean is not a striker. Fortune is not good enough, He doesn’t do his job well enough, he doesn’t hold it up, he just backs into defenders. Kim looks very lively, a real workhorse, he will be a big asset in league 1.

      As predictable as ever Einstein!

A more positive account would have stated that despite the woeful performances served up recently the crowd have very rarely been negative and continue to get behind the team in adversity, the referee tonight was pretty awful missing a hatful of fouls against our players, for his first game in months Bongs debut was a pleasing one where he seldom put a foot wrong whilst we scored two disallowed goals in a contest where we deserved at the very least a point. Let’s hope you dont return anytime soon spouting negative drivel. It’s hard enough at the minute without superfans like you popping up!

My take on the game 3 points lost with 2 strikers on the bench who should be in front of Fortune for a start

Bong a decent enough debut. Pennant looked like he had been playing in the Indian Cricket Super League. McClean and Fortune hopeless upfront but starved of decent service. Waghorn and Billy Boy on the bench watching a left winger play up front. Kim workmanlike but not much movement in front of him. Ojo just ineffective. Opposition average at best. Jimmy Somerville with a whistle awful. Pitch non league standard at best.
Just two changes needed, like for like for the two injured on Friday that would have kept Ojo on his right wing, McClean on the left, two strikers upfront.
Malky has been set up to fail but he doesn’t help his cause but does anyone care other than us silly buggers who go and sit down freezing our stones off with no reassurance for our woes from up above explaining this fiasco of a season.

You big tart. I wasn’t being funny or condescending, That was my genuine take on it. But you’re right, i won’t be returning with my negative drivel. I don’t want to halt all the positivity that is floating around. Fucking big woman, stop trying to impress the do-gooders.

Ref was fair, I heard not a hint of any fans behind the team from where i was sat or by indeed the booing from 3 stands at half and full time. 2 disallowed goals that were offside, that’s why they were disallowed, Do you get that?? If i was flagged offside outside the box and rattled it into the top corner afterwards it is still offside, no brownie points. Other than Maguire’s late, late shot, i don’t remember the keeper having a save to make. Of course you are going to bum Bong because thats the only glimmer of hope you have left. Couldn’t take a man on and couldn’t pick out a pass more than 10 yards. World beater.

When we finish a game with a centre-back playing centre-forward, when we have a striker on the bench and only used 2 subs, well …………

Well I don’t know how McClean gets a regular start whatever position he is playing! All effort and absolutely nothing to show for it! He gives the ball away more than any other player and don’t say it’s because he is involved in more play either because he might as well not bother as he is below average! And as for Fortune! League Two standard at best!

With McClean and Fortune in a Div 2 side we do not have a lot to look forward to in that league.
McClean has an high work rate but lets see that used on the wing and see if he could get a cross in.
Fortune an high work rate but that didn’t even show last night.

Sorry pal I can’t take you serious.

As a man who openly professes to not attending matches and only went because ‘my mate dragged me though I would rather watch Man City v Barca’ what exactly are you hoping your post will achieve?

It’s plain for us all to see 10 points adrift that the club’s struggling without part time critics popping up stating the bloody obvious. And don’t start with the ‘big tart’, ‘fucking big woman’, ‘do gooder’ jibes hiding behind your keyboard Billy big bollocks! In 35 years I’ve never been ‘dragged along to a game by a mate’ yet. Suggest next time you resist being led by the hand and stay in front of your TV as planned.

I’d have worn exactly the same depressed expression had I seen your miserable form walking towards me, too.

I hold my hands up to being one of the few who were willing to give McKay more time but my resolve was finally broken last night. Why can Billy McKay not get a start in front of the most ineffective forward weve had for many years and particularly being in the mess we are in?.Why did he not even get on the pitch when we still had 1 sub left to use ?Why sign him ? The shambles continues to worsen and still Mr Whelan remains silent. Then again with his previous that’s probably for the best.

I think we should make Mckay manager and play Mackay as a striker on a regular basis.
