Apart from a mere 6 minutes I actually enjoyed yesterday.
I met up with my great saturday football friends.
At Park Run I was stolen of 1 place and had 4 seconds added to my time, but I can cope with that.
A cheap Virgin ticket on a West Midlands train and dodging the ticket man seemed like a success. Getting a WM return on a cheap Virgin after waiting 7 minutes was feeling like a reasonable outcome after the 93rd minute goal, but then the ticket barriers were open at each end, so it was unnecessary.
Having a laugh and mucking about was a highlight for an old man pretending to be a kid.
We saw a goal from Keiffer, we want moore, we want moore.
The Luton ground must be one of the nicest I’ve been to. So intimate. The leg room made Ryan Air seem like business class on Emirates, not that I’d know. It was fantastic to be so close to the action and see a proper dug out ‘of old’ without out those bloody gimpy luxury heated seats. Loved the press box and the view into peoples gardens as you climb to go to the ground. It’s a shame they’re moving.
In fact I used to go to watch Luton between 1969 – 1972. Apart from the seats and the roof over the end opposite us – nothing has changed. I saw Luton v Orient, and Luton v Lazio in the Anglo – Italian Cup. Jimmy Ryan was the whippet like winger, and his barn door brother John was right back. I’ve still got my black and white scarf and rosette!
Still not sure whether all that out weighs a mere 6 minutes?? What’s not to like.
8 December 2019 at 5:38 pm #182728Sounds like a good day out irrespective of the result. My mates who went reckon we should have been 3 down before Moore netted, only poor finishing prevented it. Something really does need to change or else I can see us going all season without a win away……it really is a mind boggling away statistic. Come Monday afternoon and Cooks not gone then our time in this league really is up.
8 December 2019 at 5:49 pm #182730I’m glad your friendly gang still had a good day, see you all in the new year.
8 December 2019 at 7:24 pm #182735Come Monday afternoon and Cooks not gone then our time in this league really is up.There is a thought that we are going to get tonked by Albion anyway, so it may as well be under Cook’s tenure rather than dishearten a new man or a temporary fit
Our season is not going to be defined by Wednesday’s game. That really is a grin and bear it time.
8 December 2019 at 8:09 pm #182736Given the situation of our squad this week, and free scoring West Brom’s league position, a last second defeat would mean we will have played very well.

Wednesday night might well turn out to be an embarrassment considering we have no centre-backs. Naismith must be crapping himself.

Usually the type of game we win. Not that I think we will.
