Allardyce just been linked with West Ham job, and he’s putting feelers out now saying “I want to get back in the game now”.
Come on Whelan, act now. At least give us a chance.
Please, for the love of god, make the move. I know it’s a big thing for you to do, and probably the hardest sacking ever, but its a results based business, and we just haven’t got them.
We are in a mess.

Honestly, if he was going to sack him this season, I think he would have done it by now. I just can’t see it happening.
And I really think you overestimate the appetite that the kind of candidate you are after would have for coming to Wigan anyway.

Sam would snap our hand off. He voiced interest in the Burnley job, 2 weeks ago. Watch West Ham snap him up and him keep them up.
For starters I don’t think Sam would be effective here, we do not have the players for his system. But honestly, from what my mate (a bolton fan) and from speaking to blackburn fans, they thought his style of play was horrible. I remember after the game against blackburn last season members on this site where saying thank god we don’t have to watch that week in week out.
I like every other tics fan is getting frustrated, newcastle and fulham at home should have accumulated to 4 points at least and yet we play as poorly as i have seen us and leave with 1 point. We did the same last year and found some big results which kept us in the league. It is not over yet, not by a long shot and I think that some of the fans on this site must remember who Bob is. He is one of us! /he has had to deal with some dreadful injuries/suspensions and we have missed key players in key fixtures. EG: McCarthy has missed most of the season, Moses will be out for up to 3 months, Hugo and Alcaraz both missed the massive game at West Ham. Cleverley was out against Fulham (I think we really missed him by the way.)
Sacking Bob is NOT the way forward. He has restructured our club for the better. He has removed big earners from the wage bill and made the club more financially stable. (Although Boselli has been a flop and the sooner he goes the better to be honest.) He and all the coaches have got all the players at Wigan Athletic playing football, although he is not the manager of the youth team or reserves we have seen a considerable change in results and improvement in the young players which I would put down to Bob and his team.

Only we are Wigan and we don’t have a squad full of world class players waiting in the wings and thinking about it neither do liverpool but you get my point.Leaving McCarthy & Cleverley aside, I’m at a loss to see how the injury of a player (Moses) that Martinez has barely seen fit to give a start to in the 12 months he’s been here & who has almost entirely been limited to 5, 10, 15 minute cameo appearances, and who even when he started to show real quality in those sub appearances is dropped back to the bench for the next game, is comparable in any way, shape or form to Liverpool losing Gerrard & Torres or even the only decent player Hodgson is supposed to have brought to the club.
Based on the number of appearances he makes its more comparable to them losing Ngog
