Ive read posts on here and on other forums saying whelan this martinez that the players are ****,but this is a new dawn im not a whelan fan but i do think we have got the right man for the job in bob,he needs time to put his style in place and anybody who has read his book will know he lives football and has a very clever football mind. Mr bruce did do a good job for us,but in my eyes he used our great club for the 2nd time and has almost ripped the heart out of it again has he did the 1st time he was here the only differance is then he released players now he his coming back poaching them and still hes turning certain players heads (fig, zog). When bruce left whelan should have put in bruces leaving terms that he couldnt return for any players,we have been in the prem now for 5yrs we shouldnt still be getting pushed around by other clubs, managers or x managers we are not the new kids starting at the big school (are you listening brenda). Mr bruces record towards the end of last season wasnt that great but because we new we where almost safe or safe he was king of the hill.I have so many memorys watching my team the good and the bad and been there through them all, but this is my team i am proud to say i support wigan, win lose or draw and beleive me i get some **** but give bob the time he needs and get behind our great team for 4 seasons weve taken p i s s and the rest of the prem dont get it like the time at old trafford when we where getting stuffed but the wigan fans never stopped singing.the rest of the prem dont want us there so lets get behind our team, give bob the time he needs we have been in worst postions than this so COME ON WIGANERS LETS GET BEHIND OUR TEAM

Just seen on MOTD, and of course that never tells the whole story, but from what I could see it’s nothing to do with tactics, formations or whatever – it’s just that the players were too slow and flat-footed.

great player for the club but! could the problem not be “the first team coach” wigan ,chester, rochdale, bury and finally ALTRINCHAM! big difference to the premier league :?:

Watched it online, and I’d tend to agree. Also, I’ve said it before, Hugo cannot play as a lone striker. He is not big enough, nor the type of player with the inclination to hold the ball up. He is suited to the second striker mode, and needs a partner up with him.

If we are playing one up, Scotland needs to be the target man, and I’ve given him time, but sorry, Gomez is not the attacking midfielder to suit the role required. He’s got decent potential, but he’s not the Gerrard / Scholes type to come charging into the box off the striker. Koumas is more suited to that role than Gomez, and dare I say it, even Scharner would offer more support.

On another point, didn’t Rachid Bouaouzan have a good pre-season? Why has he not even been considered?

I think that ALL your points are valid, and spot on!

I must admit, I was shocked when we recruited a first team coach from those European giants, Altrincham. (No disrespect) In all seriousness, what other Premiership club would recruit from so low down the football ladder? None.

I DEFINITELY feel that we are lacking the experience in our coaching set up, and my god is it showing. Bring David Lowe back? That’s a good call, I reckon. Bring Jewell back? Normally, I’d be well against this, but I’m thinking it may not be such a bad idea.
But in what capacity? And does that not undermine Roberto? (Dare I say, humiliate him, even?)

Some people will say “Yes, but we got hammered by the top teams under Jewell, as well”. Yes, we did. But at least we made them work for it, and have to score half-decent goals. That yesterday, as has been the norm this season, was a joke. I mean the goals we conceded. Very poor.

Unless things change, we WILL go down.
