Looks like the 10th attempt at getting more money for the biggest teams is being announced tonight. Can’t stand their attitude to the game, favouring money over the game itself.

Stuff them, fans eventually will see these things for what they are and turn off their TV screens and start going yo watch their local team.

Like i said on another thread, surprised the PL haven’t made it a closed shop for the 20 “biggest” clubs. Greed has already killed the game phoenix 2021.

Agreed ,I wonder who the five English clubs are ? Probably United ,City ,Spurs ,Arsenal and Liverpool. They should be deducted points .
Best make sure Sunderlands players are all under multi year contracts though bullitt or they won’t play as well

Read a bit about this and seemingly it isn’t to replace the PL but to replace the CL.
20 teams, 2 groups of 10. Play home and away.
It then becomes stupid when the top 3 qualify for the QFs but then 4th play 5th in a playoff. WHY????
Why not just say the top 4?
It’s getting stupid now. Finding excuses for games to get more money out of tv companies hence a 32 team Euros that had 4 qualifying competitions.
The games would be good quality.
UEFA should just carry on with the Champs League but let all the Champions (or highest finishers) in from every country, 2nd place from the big nations and away you go.

I think there’s a strong chance it’s a threat/negotiating ploy by these large clubs in order to get greater %’s of revenues/rules in their favor. The domestic leagues need to hold firm – no reason to give in to them or make any special allowances for these teams.
If they do pull away/start this EFL in place of the champions leagues, even if the FA’s can’t ban them from competing domestically outright, they can certainly make life extremely difficult for them via scheduling/etc. These “big” teams need their domestic leagues – without them, their fan bases will shrink as they won’t be successful consistently when up against other ‘super’ teams.
