I have noticed that the less white stripes we have on the kit, the worse we perform in the league – is there a correlation there?
2005/06, 5 stripes – Carling Cup Finalists, 10th position
2006/07, 0 stripes – 17th position
2007/08, 3 stripes – 14th position
2008/09, 3 stripes – 11th position
2009/10, 3 stripes – 16th positionAlright, having looked at it maybe there’s not enough there to warrant a connection  but looking at that 1 stripe could see us getting relegated!*
*although maintaining our end-of-season form would do that just as capably…
14 May 2010 at 1:25 am #33366I’m not 100% on this but it’s likely to be Nike. DW Sports will have some involvement with the manufacturing of the gear and will continue to run the Club Shop next season. If we go down Nike “WILL NOT” have any involvement with Wigan Athletic, that’s certain.Nike would be fantastic and would certainly sell over double the amount of Vandanel kits. Have you found this out from a source within the club?
As for them not wanting any involvement with us if were relegated, i can understand this but how do MK Dons, Notts County,Hartlepool and a few others down there get away with having them as the manufacturer?
14 May 2010 at 2:13 am #33370Nike would be great as kit manufacturers.
The top 3 at this time, are Nike, Adidas, and Umbro. I think Nike are possibly the best made, as well.
Nike tend to size quite small though, but I think they go up to XXXL these days.
Training gear will be quality, as well.
Don’t mind paying £40 on a decent made shirt.
14 May 2010 at 2:01 pm #33410I didn’t buy a Vandanel kit. I have bought a shirt for the last 20 years but not that one. bought it for the kids though.
I would deffo buy a Nike, Puma, Umbro kit

Vandanel gave the 1st team kits to the club 2 weeks after they expected them. They almost went to Austria last pre-season without a kit to play in. Oh & there bankrupt.14 May 2010 at 8:20 pm #33464Vandanel gave the 1st team kits to the club 2 weeks after they expected them. They almost went to Austria last pre-season without a kit to play in. How is that possible when we played in the kit on the final day of the season vs Pompey?
And how did you find out about the Nike link? I just dont want to get my hopes up only to see the kit released with DW Sports on it instead. :?
16 May 2010 at 12:51 am #33550As long as we have a decent coloured away kit and not iluminous sh*te

16 May 2010 at 3:54 pm #33579Thank you. JamesC would have insisted on you saying 2010/12 seasons to be totally correct but I know what you mean and will let it go as you have been very polite ;)Griff, Stop mentioning me all the time. I did not say anything about that mistake and to be fair, it’s the kind of thing you would have picked up on…As you did!

Vandanel gave Wigan 1 shirt for every player in the squad and most of them gave there shirt away after the Pompey game. Also, the kits we played in v Crewe & the Austrian teams in pre-season we’re ordinary shirts with a number on the back of them. The official shirts the players wear are slightly different to shirts sold in the club shop. You’ve just been owned. :D16 May 2010 at 5:19 pm #33594Anonymous
