same tripe…..What is it with this 1 up front policy. After saying that the midfield were crap.Another blank for Fortune albeit not totally his fault but will he ever create a goal out of nothing ?.I can only assume Malky is waiting for the window to shake things up.Are we too god to drop..? are we bollock’s….going to be a hard winter.

Just the word humbug missing out of that post Ebeneezer. :P

PS I agree with yer.

        From Matlock to ManU

And then he took off our only striker and replaced him with a midfielder, this prompted a chorus of ” You don’t know what you’re doing “! Bit early for turning on him eh! We were extremely poor today and the 4-1 odds on offer for relegation look very tempting right now!

When I saw the title Phil I thought “do you want another one already?”

Absolute cack today. I’ve never known as little noise on the concourse (West) at either half time or full time, the atmosphere was like a morgue.

Did anyone else hear Neil Rimmer on Wish FM advocating playing 2 up front…how does it work taking the 1 up front off when we’re 1-0 down? Even Coyle would have been proud of that one

Tough game next week the way Watford played last night…a long hard winter ahead I’m afraid without a major change of (no pun) fortune.

These performance keep getting worse, I didn’t think it was possible for a team to play worse than we did at home to Brentford, but we managed it by the proverbial country mile. We do seem to be gathering momentum negative momentum that is. With performances like that it won’t be long before we get caught by Blackpool.

Terrible today but at the end of the day he can only play with what hes inherited, he obviously likes a holding striker and we only have Fortune who can do that role (Holt to return i think) hes tried a different back line but that didn`t work, Watson we all love for what hes done for the club but hes just not good enough, When he took Fortune off i didn`t have a problem with that as McClean is a good header of the ball and can sheild the ball, lets be positive (some how) ,hes been in the job 2 weeks and at least hes trying different options i think we`ll see a settled team soon i just hope its not to late .

Did they get booed off at the end? I had more important things to be getting on with and so I had vacated the stadium early for a change!! I believe the Goodison faithful turned on Bobby midweek as well and booed his shower of shite off the pitch after a disappointing draw with that relegation fodder outfit Hull City!

Disclaimer- I do not boo myself but I do believe it is a fan’s prerogative, seeing as it is the fans who shell out lots of their hard earned cash to watch players stealing a living like I witnessed today! Shocking performance!

I’m sorry filmoss but you are totally wrong with that observation. They are not stealing a living they positively mugged everyone for their hard earned today. There was a time in the second half when three players were all off side – the crowd let them know and not one of them put in any effort to correct it.

The problem is still with the players I fear – some think they are too good to be at Wigan, some think they are better than they actually are and some are just too arrogant to take instruction from the manager as if they know better. They need to get their combined heads together and give them a shake.

Malkays’ CV speaks volumes about his past successes, he is no mug but I think he may be treading a little light on the players because of what has recently gone on and some of the players are taking advantage – they need to learn that they remain paid servants to the club – and learn bloody quickly too.

I fucking hope so, and play someone up alongside him.

This 1 up top malarky does not work in this division. I thought this would have been grasped by now. But then, when i saw that at one point we had no strikers on the pitch – now that is a first.

                  Coyle out, he’s clueless.

Seriously though, WTF was that all about?

perhaps sacking a player may jolt the others into action.

Well at the start it looked like it could be pretty positive. It looked like Maloney playing alongside or just behind Fortune, but alas no! Sean out left and McClean was sort of in that role. Figs at centre half again was questionable. Ben Watson too. Why has he a god given right to start. It all seemed like changing for changing sake. Malky has said he was pretty happy in general with the first two performances apart from the finishing at Sheffield so why not play a similar line up to the Boro game at home where Sean and McCann looked solid in midfield instead of switching players around. We could afford to drop Callum or McClean for a second striker or even play Callum as an out and out striker alongside Fortune. This seemed to work against Blackpool and Birmingham but Rosler changed things around instead of sticking with it.
Is it not glaringly obvious that Fortune needs someone alongside him. Again Fortune worked like mad but he will not score goals if he doesn’t play in the box. Often he was out left or out right or even back into midfield looking for the ball. Saying this a striker playing from centre spot to penalty spot with long passes to run on to doesn’t seem to happen anymore at Latics. Its long gone. Five or at one stage yesterday six midfielders on the park at once seems to be the way.
Well that needs changing and changing quick before next years derbys are Fleetwood Town and Rochdale.
