It just said on Sky Sports, that from next season, clubs will have to have at least EIGHT ‘home grown’ players in their squad.
Not sure at this time what the criteria entails, but will we have problems with this?
15 September 2009 at 2:48 pm #8759only problem we will have is having right size of green house to grow our players in
15 September 2009 at 2:49 pm #8760There will be a maximum squad of 25 & 8 of em have to be “home grown”
Home grown will apparently be classed as anyone who has been with a club in the english or welsh fa’s for at least 3 years from the age of 16 or sometEDIT
From the bbc website:
“To qualify as home grown, a player will have had to be registered for at least three seasons at an English or Welsh club between the ages of 16 and 21”15 September 2009 at 3:09 pm #8762There will be a maximum squad of 25 & 8 of em have to be “home grown”

WTF – so not English home grown, but just like it is now….
….so what is the difference then??
15 September 2009 at 3:16 pm #8763barely any difference whatsoever which is why the “big clubs” have agreed to it
15 September 2009 at 3:26 pm #8764so in effect, the big clubs will take the younger “home grown” players from the smaller clubs and the smaller clubs will suffer…
Typical FA and PL

The powers that be in Soccerball have become a total laughing stock.
When having to pander to the big money earners in the league, means more than the sport, it all gets a bit daft.
The Eduardo lack of action is just another example, as will be the pathetic manner they will deal with Adebayo….
The game is fooked.
