31 July 2013 at 7:48 pm #118572Barnett won Luton’s official Player-of-the-Year Award for 2006–07.
Barnett’s performance in Albion’s 2–1 away win against Leicester City on 8 December 2007 earned him a place in the Championship Team of the Week.
On the other hand;
He played 20 games while on loan at Coventry in the Championship. He conceded three penalties, two of which saw him sent off in consecutive games against Newcastle United and Scunthorpe United.
On 11 December 2010, playing for Norwich against Portsmouth at Carrow Road, he conceded a penalty, for which he received his second yellow card of the match and was subsequently sent off. In protest, he threw the ball at referee Simon Hooper, which earned him an extended two-match ban from The FA.
Barnett played in his first Premier League game for Norwich as a substitute away at Wigan Athletic on 13 August 2011. He started the next game, a 1–1 draw at home with Stoke City at Carrow Road, but was adjudged by referee Neil Swarbrick to have committed a professional foul on Jon Walters in the second half, conceding a penalty kick and receiving a red card.
1 August 2013 at 2:15 am #118603At least he sounds like he plays with passion. You’ve seen the referees in action against us: Boycey gets sent of at Newcastle and is at least 2yds away from making contact with the player: Valencia gets sent off at Anfield for encroachment: etc, etc. Best not to comment unless you witnessed the situation first hand.

Indeed.
At least he sounds like he plays with passion.
A view informed by witnessing the situation at first hand, I trust.
The concern is that if he continues to collect yellow and red cards at this rate, whether rightly or wrongly, he’s hardly going to strengthen the defence. Unless he can change the situation, he’s going to miss an awful lot of games.
1 August 2013 at 11:00 am #118625I wish WGTB would think before he puts his mouth in gear. PAPA says “it sounds”; which does not necessarily imply that he has seen this mon in action; it’s more a case of the listening to comments about the player and arriving at a positive pre-judgement. WGTB is fast becoming a boring know it all ( from what I gather ). But that might be pre-judging him. Wouldn’t like to do that, would we.
1 August 2013 at 12:01 pm #118632Eyup, I see the Leyland Massif is closing ranks again!!
It looks like they are making a challenge to take over from the old, well-established clique on here – because there is one, apparantly. Everybody says so. Usually whwn their argument/point is disagreed with.

Are we sure that isn’t a bio of Gary Caldwell? It sounds horribly familiar.*
* Won’t have a bad word said against the man, by the way. He kindly signed copies of the book in the photo in my avatar which were used to help raise money for Joseph’s Goal.

There is no clique, there never was. Just a group of us who know we are better than the rest. Anyone can be part of that group if we let them.
I know the Leyland Massif.
Don’t involve yourself in things that don’t concern you.
