These signings are great. It’s the ‘unknown quantity’ that is in our favour. None of the opposition know what they are up against. Remember Hugo ….. no one had heard of him ….. and that goal of the decade at Villa! Beluga is a great signing – he has the mass and strength of his name sake the whale. We all know that in Polish Dobre means GOOD. Dowell, we are already seeing is fitting in very nicely and Mr Laker will fly around the pitch, jet powered, but not finishing off in the same manner as his namesake 40 years ago. Yup they all bode well for the future.
09:50 – Omar Bogle [Cardiff – ADO Den Haag] Loan
Gaetan Bong [Brighton – Nottingham Forest] Undisclosed – pushed out by Dan Burn
Conor McAleny [Fleetwood – Shrewsbury] Loan gone to join a few other Wiganners
James Vaughan [Bradford – Tranmere] Loan
Devante Cole [Wigan – Doncaster] Undisclosed – 1 less striker
Glenn Whelan [Hearts – Fleetwood] Free – Glenn Whelan – I thought he was about 67.
Victor Moses [Chelsea – Inter Milan] Loan – should have come back to us …. he’ll hate it in Milano.
Owen Evans [Wigan – Cheltenham] Loan
Callum Connolly [Everton – Fleetwood] Loan
Kieran Dowell [Everton – Wigan] Loan – slipping in well.Must be quite rough being an AC Milan fan who is old enough to remember the late 80s and early 90s. Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten, Maldini, Donadoni, Rijkaard.
Now they can’t get a deal for Wigan’s left-back over the line. And I say that with all due respect to Wigan.
Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson will remain at the DW Stadium after his move to AC Milan could not be completed.
Robinson, 22, travelled to Milan this morning after the two clubs agreed a fee for the permanent transfer on Thursday evening.
The USA international underwent a medical examination with AC Milan, though further medical tests with the Italian authorities were required, which were subject to a 72-hour deadline.
As such, the deal could not be formally ratified before the 8pm Italian Transfer Deadline on Friday. fair play to them for not being bullied. Milan tried to change the terms. Wigan said no, apparently.Do you remember when Van Gaal signed Andy Kellett at Man U.
1 February 2020 at 5:09 pm #184575Worrying that 2 players who were regularly getting game time (Windass and Mulgrew) are desperate to leave.!!. Particularly Mulgrew……. goes back with virtually no chance of playing unless a serious injury crisis, rather thatplay here.!
1 February 2020 at 6:42 pm #184581When have our January signings ever made sense? We were making bonkers signings well before Cooks time.
Unless these new lads are dynamite, I don’t see the point in having them. It just complicates team selection, makes it harder for our own talented youngsters to even get a seat on the bench, and, potentially disrupts the team spirit.
Unless we’re prioritising winning the u23 division?

Very good points Mr Edwards but this is Cook you’re talking about.
1 February 2020 at 7:26 pm #184585Why have we signed a centre back? Probably because we only have 2.

But the others, including Dowell, are not what we need.If they turn out to be sh1t hot I’ll gladly eat my words

Lets show a bit of faith eh!
1 February 2020 at 9:23 pm #184609There’s nothing like putting the new lads down before they’ve even put their shirt on. FFS give um a chance, although after today’s performance they might have to bide their time.

We need everyone to be together to get out of this and the last two games have certainly shown that to be the case.
Brought in cover at CB, CF and hopefully to provide the final ball.
1 February 2020 at 10:07 pm #184623I don’t think Mulgrew or Windass were getting regular game time for various reasons.
I was a Windass admirer I thought he was tactically better than the ones providing his service. However, there was something amiss, too often he was being left out for no apparent reason. Cook obviously must have rubber stamped his loan move. We need to move on quickly and forget about the ones who have left. Perhaps we can kickstart the young Bournmouth and Brighton lads careers like we did with RJ.From Matlock to ManU

Eight defensive players worked well today so let’s carry that on at home next week. Sit back defend deep and hope a Knob End defender scores for us.

Cant see us playing like that at home Donny. Unless you were using the lowest form of wit in your statement.
