      Surely these should be dropped and were completely unnecessary this year in particular.
      Think about it for a moment , end of festive period, hangovers , poor public transport and credit card battered supporters make me wonder why they have had a New Year’s Day card .
      4 games in 9 days is ridiculous and the tired performances of our players particularly on Friday add to the futility.
      Gates willl no doubt be down today and atmospheres will be muted for obvious reasons
      No issues with Boxing Day as gates are always higher and it is only like a midweek game but the new year Day is pointless this year .
      Stuff the tradition get rid of New Year’s Day football unless it falls on a Saturday obviously.
