Villa (12th), Newcastle (1st), Ipswich (13th) and Rotherham (24th).
Is it worth the manager just taking a chance by swapping the team around. He has consistently played the same players without much joy, so can mixing it up reap us at least 7 points out of these 4 games?
The following Four are – Barnsley (11th), Brighton (2nd) , Cardiff (13th) and Reading (5th)
With the last game against 4th placed Leeds.
It is estimated we’d need 14 points to have a chance of staying up…. is now the time to throw caution and mix it up, or does he persist with his current pick in the hope it starts to work?
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
13 March 2017 at 10:35 am #156699He has changed the players its the negative stifling tactics that haven’t.
13 March 2017 at 11:11 am #156700If Reading & Leeds have cemented a play-off place, then we might get something from those games. Prior to that:
Villa – Draw
Newcastle – Loss
Ipswich – Win
Rotherham – Draw (they’ll be down and playing without pressure)
Barnsley – Draw
Brighton – Loss
Cardiff – Win13 March 2017 at 12:43 pm #156701If Reading & Leeds have cemented a play-off place, then we might get something from those games. Prior to that:

Cardiff – WinThe midfield was a different midfield on Saturday from our regular trio with MacDonald , Morsey and Power all missing and it didn’t make a sod er difference. These players cannot play the Joyces way which is ?, don’t lose. Your predictions were obviously ale fueled, I will correct your errors;-
Villa – lose, Villa are back in form winning 4 out their last 5 with a good win over high flyers Sheff Weds
Newcastle – lose, Newcastle will go up and are in the top 3 teams in the division,
Ipswich – draw, Ipswich have drawn 8 out their last 10 and only lost 1 drawing 6 of them 1-1,,,will be 0-0
Rotherham – lose, bit of er bogey team for us , no matter how sh*t they play we always play to a level just below them
Barnsley – lose, Barnsley always score and as the Bristol City manager said “I never thought Wigan would score so if we scored I knew we would win the game” 1-0 to Barnsley
Brighton – lose, more chance of me winning the UK Lottery, Postcode Lottery and Euro Lottery all in the same week,
Cardiff – lose, my first pick when we sacked Caldwell was Warnock purely on the basis he knows how to resurrect a sinking ship. Did a miracle job on Rotherham and now steered Cardiff to safety. Cardiff have only lost 2 in their last 9.
you reckon 8 pts ? you need to see the nurse at work and p*ss in a bottle. If we get 2 pts I will be over the moon, 8pts ?, I drink what your drinking.
The simple matter of fact is, with Joyce were going down. I pointed out my reason when we first appointment him. Managing an under 21’s and then a Championship side at the age he is is too big of a jump.
It’s like comparing a rally driver to an F1, similar but totally different and, he was a “coach” not a manager at Utd. Is Neil Warnock a manager or a coach ? manager. He employs coaches and staff to get them fit and tactically ready for a game to his instructions. He then picks the team and motivates the players and gets their mindset ready for a game.Joyce ?, sorry but your just not cut for it or you wouldnt have had such a long time away from League management.
Good managers analyze the opposition and tactically try to target their weakness’s. Joyce uses the one for all rule for every game, ” All pile in the midfield and try not to lose this one”Sharpe has made 2 fundamental mistakes when letting Joyce put pen to paper, a 3-1/2 year deal for a guy with very very little “management” experience and secondly, sticking with him when you can clearly see he’s not cut out for the job no matter how much time he’s had.
It’s been a very hard learning curve for Sharpe, a guy with Latics at heart but tbh enough is enough regardless if we go down. The fans are not split on this one, you will be very hard pushed to find anyone to side with Joyce and his skillset.
When Martinez took over fans were split, some for some against. Some were against him because we were losing too many games while playing the new system but,,, and a big but, there was a method to his madness. Boyce as a wing back ? rolling the ball out to the ….but at least fans could see what he was trying to achieve whether in their mind it was right or wrong.
Joyces tactics ?, basically there is non, it’s as tactically poor as I have seen. I can honestly say the only thing that has come out of it is the constant pressure has made Dan Burn a good selling asset for the drop. But I would like to point out 1 last thing, some of the players at Wigan are simply (quite a few as well) not good enough and that’s a fact. Div1 yes, Championship no. This will be proved next season when we yo-yo back up from a division that bores the breast of me.
13 March 2017 at 1:25 pm #156703Joyce still in charge….won’t win a point.Negative set up and now poisonous feeling around ground. He’s had time enough to see at least a modicum of improvement…..actually we’ve regressed. He has to be dismissed right away !!
13 March 2017 at 1:26 pm #156704The fans are not split on this one, you will be very hard pushed to find anyone to side with Joyce and his skillset. That is very noticeable.
In the past when we have the debate about managers there are often those (myself included) who side with the incumbent, saying we could see what he was trying to do etc and he just needs time.
But now those who don’t think we should get rid now are basing that thought on the destabilising effect on the club overall, and questioning who we would get in, rather than giving support for Joyce.
It has been a long long time since we had a manager that no-one has a good word for.13 March 2017 at 1:46 pm #156705The fans are not split on this one, you will be very hard pushed to find anyone to side with Joyce and his skillset.

13 March 2017 at 2:16 pm #156707This is for the “Who would we get in ?” brigade I can name at least 4 I would be talking to right now :-
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trainer/verfuegbaretrainer/statistik/?statistik=189&plus=013 March 2017 at 2:43 pm #156709Sharpie needs to be carefull.
If he doesn’t act soon we could possibly see the sort of thing that happened at Blackburn with demonstrations chants during the game etc. This would make the bad situation worse and does nothing but harm.
This was already simmering against bristol city hope it gets sorted immediately.13 March 2017 at 3:42 pm #156710My view is, fans should not dictate who and when they want a manager by staging protest, this is not the way to go.
We don’t really need things like that, whats going on on the pitch is enough and speaks for itself and hopefully this will dictate Joyces position as manager. The problems is, has Sharpe got the nuts to use some of the Yanic money to get rid ?. I personally think that Sharpe thinks Joyce could do us a job in Div 1 hence the reason he hasn’t gone already.Only time will tell if he can or cant do us a job in a division below but if you were to ask me my opinion which is based on fact and information gathered from results and performances on the pitch he should be long gone.
With Div1 now looming ever so closer on the horizon and signs that Joyce will retain his job next season we also face the problem of:-
Our annual summer 15-20 player clearout so its a re-build from scratch once again,
Championship and parachute payments all gone,
Best players like Burn sold on,
And a manager who basically isn’t up for the job were driving downhill on Diarrhea Drive in 5th been laughed at all the way.
If we do hit a new all time low since moving to the DW which (I prey to God that we don’t) I won’t be holding the manager or his players accountable I’ll be waving my fist at the board of this club with my shouting “We all told you so” so do the right thing before the whole thing snowballs out of control. Get rid of Joyce, put the backroom staff in control till the season ends and hope and prey there’s an uplift in the players spirits so we can try and change things around, then , only then bring someone in to sort the mess left behind.
Most fans are resounded to going down, that’s not the problem right now what’s not acceptable is, !!”HOW!!” that’s pishing the vast majority of fans off !!!!!!!!!!
I know one thing whatever fan base you have built up will slowly drift away
I remember the Springfield days and the “loyal 2000” lets not hey13 March 2017 at 3:49 pm #156711All over Twitter (including Paul Kendrick) who’s quoting usually reliable sources, that Joyce is to leave the club sometime today
13 March 2017 at 3:52 pm #156712Thank God I would just like to wish him al the best in the future and good luck elsewhere thats if he hopefully goes
butI can’t thank him for what he’s given us which was a miserable few months of torturous football
