Long trip to Plymouth should be a good one because their bang in form, for South West hospitality try the Green Taverners Fest it’s friendly entertainment at the ground in a marquee but it’s all ticket which cost £2 (i think) it always sells out so get in early doors open from 12 o’clock.

14 January 2018 at 10:02 pm #165088Just been looking at their forum PASOTI, thread “build up to Wigan” I forgot all about old Reidy was their manager in 2010 and a few having a pop at us saying we bought our way to the premiership and the atmosphere for Saturday will be intimidating, should be fun.
15 January 2018 at 5:04 pm #165103Giddy bunch their fans calling us same size of Exeter City some sticking up with Dave Whelan tho.
15 January 2018 at 5:38 pm #165104Plenty clubs spent more than us but as a small club it can only be due to buying our way to the top that we made it and all the others didn’t.

If they had held on to Ronnie Hildersley, Scott Sellars and Howard Gayle and kept Don Mackay as manager I am sure the results would have been the same and the title still won.17 January 2018 at 12:59 am #165134Mate of mine who is a Rovers fan refuses to believe that Jack Walker’s money bought them their Prem title, talk about being in denial !Some of our fans refuse to believe that Dave Whelan’s money bought us a place in the Premier League.

Quite a number (included not a few on here) believe he lined his pockets with the money from the PL, but put nothing in to get us there which miraculously happened as we rose from bottom of teh Fourth Division.

Of course it did, but usually saying we bought our way there means we spent more than everyone else but we didn’t we just spent wisely.
17 January 2018 at 1:50 am #165140Long trip to Plymouth.I remember August 1983 when I used a family railcard to take 4 people down to Plymouth for the day. In those days, “kids” travelled for a quid and adults for half price. Total cost for 1 adult and 4 “kids” was around £20. Charged the “kids” a tenner each and the profit paid for my entrance and fish & chips in Plymouth!
Just checked a database and the game was 0-0. I Remember nothing about the game, but I’ve always remembered the fish & chips!
18 January 2018 at 2:32 am #165167Great result tonight hope it continues at Plymouth, I think Plymouths fans have been more interested in tonight’s game than Wiganers.
20 January 2018 at 1:06 am #165216Going to be a tough test this one grumpy. They’ve won five on the spin at home, we played mid week… Hoping for a more entertaining game than the one at home. Seem to recall them defending well but offered little in the way of entertainment.
Hoping for a 2 – 1 away win
