No not wingers pretending but time served forwards. M.A.F and McKay surely was the way to go ,55 mins wasted before we bring 1 on.Over 60% poss and 10 corners against 2 and then go a goal down yet again. Here’s a question……What do all these names have in common ?…………Afobe,Bowery,Hooper,Gregory x3,Martin,Murphy,Sears,Lolley,Rhodes,Gestede,Kike,McCormack x3,Doyle x2,Mason,Maguire,Morison,Deeney,Vydra ??? Ans ,They are all championship strikers ,I repeat Strikers who have scored today. I personally see another all possession no end product manager in the making. Yes I understand we aren’t blessed with up top quality but Caldwell has made a spineless bollocks of his team selections so for me please Mr Sharp change your mind and make him an assistant to A.N Other. How much more help do we need ,3pts deducted and a pigs ear result at Millwall followed by another one today. Both Rotherham and Millwall played promotion sides like us but to their credit ground a result out.We deserve to slip with a home record like this .
25 April 2015 at 9:45 pm #141620Yes and as mentioned. Leicester and Burnley. Watford and Bournemouth. Positive attacking football played how it should be played similar to us and Sunderland during that era. Floundering at the bottom?? No. Please bring in someone who plays real football. Not just bloody real but sensible. Small squad, two strikers, one winger, attacking wing backs, battling midfielder, attacking midfielder, a long passer and fines for the player who passes backwards the most in a match. Why did Gary start that way today? What was wrong with starting with a similar line up that finished last week.
25 April 2015 at 9:47 pm #141621The point I’m making is our forwards won’t bag sat on the bench. All the ball but ball all to show for it …again.
25 April 2015 at 10:12 pm #141622The point I’m making is our forwards won’t bag sat on the bench. .There’s very little chance of them bagging on the pitch either.
Blaming Caldwell is just sad.
25 April 2015 at 10:25 pm #141623Calamity picks the team and his negative tactics stink. We can not begin the next season with his type of tactics, team selection and formations. Its shit.

25 April 2015 at 10:36 pm #141626Jesus I’m not blaming him for our plight but his team selections certainly didn’t give us the best chance of hitting the net.Might as well sell McKay cos it doesn’t look like he’ll get any pitch time under Caldwell either. No forwards till 56 mins and already a goal down when he changed it…too late.Don’t know if the penny still not dropping with some folks but strikers have played in that position since childhood and it’s an instinct based role which you can’t expect from a player thrust in as a makeshift striker. .I would always rather start with a striker than not as even when not playing well can steal you a goal.Take a look at Millwall and Rotherham’s scorers today…..both forwards.Sorry but if this is whats to come then don’t expect goals galore next season.
25 April 2015 at 10:39 pm #141627Jesus I’m not blaming him for our plight …….….and yet you want him replaced as Manager.
J……Don’t know if the penny still not dropping with some folks but strikers have played in that position since childhood and it’s an instinct based role which you can’t expect from a player thrust in as a makeshift striker. …..Have you ever actually watched Fortune & McKay play ?
25 April 2015 at 10:52 pm #141629Fortune and McKay together with the Londonderry Lout out wide over a twenty match period could not have been any worse than the fiasco witnessed this season.
25 April 2015 at 10:53 pm #141630I know but still beats playing with a straight line runner up front AKA McClean…Trying not to lose tactics rather than going out and win. Where have I seen that before ?
25 April 2015 at 11:28 pm #141632Couldn’t agree more.Persevered with 1 who has been nothing more than pitiful, but being we had limited options hen I cannot understand why we didn’t give them a run out together. Played ok today but guess what ? no goals .
