Journeyman so called striker was watching the garbage last night at Haig Avenue apparently. He could be the answer to our strike problem. He scored once in twenty outings with Portsmouth last season so should fit in well with those stats.
19 July 2017 at 4:30 pm #160502He,s owder than me yon Mon.
19 July 2017 at 5:24 pm #160503Been training with us over last couple of weeks.

Certainly the same age group!!!19 July 2017 at 7:29 pm #160507Wasn’t he with Cook last season ? 35 ish……Now I am starting to worry about our player recruitment process !!!

He’s played for PC twice, did really well at Chesterfield, and I can see that realistically happening. Though PNE may be losing Jordan Hugill as well.I can possibly see Bogle being either sold, or shipped out on loan back to league 2.
26 July 2017 at 10:50 am #160646According to the press we seem very interested in this Mon.
Apparently he is a striker and with 88 career goals in 16 years may be just what we need to join the long line of non prolific Latics strikers. At 35 at least he has youth on his side.
He owns a pub though so that should qualify him well to spearhead our attack.26 July 2017 at 2:21 pm #160647According to the press we seem very interested in this Mon.

He owns a pub though so that should qualify him well to spearhead our attack. From what ive read by cookie, he is the type of character who is popular in every dressing room for whom he’s played for. If he does sign, he is only going to be used (from cookies words) as a bit part player, last 10 mins, freight rover kind of guy. I don’t think (well hope to god he’s not) being signed to replace grigg.

Maybe Cookie is bringing him in so he eventually becomes part of PC,s backroom staff. The gaffer seems to rate the lad highly so probably wants to groom him for when he hangs his boots up. Just a thought.

He owns a pub though so that should qualify him well to spearhead our attack.Cooky likens him to David Perkins as the kind of bloke that is good to have around the club, using him sparingly as a player, but making use of his experience to help the younger and less experienced players off the field as much as on it.
Sounds like a good idea to me, and he’s not a bad little player from what I remember.P.S. Donny, are you ever going to have anything positive to say you grumpy old turd???
26 July 2017 at 11:51 pm #160657Sounds like a good idea to me, and he’s not a bad little player from what I remember. His brother Steven was canny. Noel was a journeyman lower league plodder who briefly played in the premier league for Reading, as backup to Le Fondre.
26 July 2017 at 11:58 pm #160658Sounds like he’s Cooks drinking chum. Positivity will be there when I see something to get positive about Claude. Up to now the most positive thing is that Grigg, Powell and Burn are still here as I have positively mentioned before.

It’s win, win and all positive then.
