From every player, nothing short of 100% will be accepted today.
If we flop and take a whacking, Maloney should be gone by 5pm.Just seen his interview with Kendrick where he insists he will not change his principles, the stubborn fool. It’s that attitude that has got many a manager sacked. They’re their own worst enemy sometimes, aren’t they? Why wouldn’t you change something when you can see things aren’t working? Stupidity? Naivety? You decide.
He might not change things, but I’m damn sure we NEED to if recent form carries on today.
Looking at the Bolton pages, it’s evident they consider this a match of massive importance. You’d think they were playing a big cup tie. So they’re well and truly up for it and that means if 2 or 3 of our lads are slack and not at the races, we’re in trouble.
Let’s see what happens but nothing but a solid performance where we leave nothing out there, on the pitch, will be acceptable today. You can play well and still lose, but you can also play poorly and get hammered.Let’s see…
14 December 2024 at 2:40 pm #204557Much better performance today; but what a bang average team are Bolton.
If we can repeat that more often, we” be safe for this season at least.
Buggered if Assgaard goes though14 December 2024 at 2:43 pm #204558Well….
Absolutely fantastic. Every player put a shift in and gave 110%. Maloney got tactics and selection spot on. No complaints at all.
Bolton are awful though. But maybe it was us that played well? Dale Taylor really showed what he can do today…they all did. Adeeko was solid, Thelo showed why it will be hard to keep hold of him.
Fantastic performance. Well done everyone.
14 December 2024 at 5:19 pm #204559This today was epic…I for one didn’t think this squad had the steel for today but so pleased they proved me wrong. Like most so called good teams we’ve played yet again shows how bang average this league is. Heard from a little bird Forest in 3 million for Aasgaard with a possible cash plus Taylor to us. Also have an experienced striker joining on 3rd Jan. ….what a day…..loved watching them all vacate their seats again early and Bolton fans joining in our”your getting sacked in the morning” chant !!!
14 December 2024 at 6:34 pm #204560Made up with the win today but we’ve seen it all before haven’t we?
Take the shackles off, change the game plan, stop the tippy tappy shite and get the win to get the fans off Tinkerbells back and keep him at the helm for another few weeks, Maloney was almost in tears at full time.
My main concern is will Maloney revert back to exactly the opposite next week against Shrewsbury to what we witnessed today?
The season isn’t just about beating Bolton there’s another 44 league games we should be busting a gut to win
Fuck the EFL
14 December 2024 at 7:54 pm #204561An excellent performance from start to finish and just what was needed and gives Maloney some breathing space.
The out field players were all great however Sam Tickle was once again immense with some crucial saves and crucial catches in at key moments when Bolton were applying pressure.
He reads the game so well and will be a huge loss when the inevitable happens.
Best performance this season by a mile.14 December 2024 at 8:10 pm #204562Overjoyed now pissed later what a surprise result but also somewhat baffling. How can we keep doing this, brilliant against Noblot utter shite against Orient. OK then Maloney you saw today what these boys can do so please let them continue in this fashion.
14 December 2024 at 9:12 pm #204563Yes, throw those bloody shackles away and let the player off the leash
15 December 2024 at 8:49 am #204565The way the players celebrated when we were locked in at the end just showed you they’d bought into the fixture and what it means to us fans.
Maloney got it right, Evatt got it wrong it’s as simple as that. Evatt’s first half tactic was baffling, Aimson & Kerr made easy work of the long up n unders very strange. In the second half Bolton looked better but the difference in the end was we took our chances they didn’t.
Before the game I said I’d hope for a draw and based on recent form a 1-0 loss would be ok “if” we went down fighting but I didn’t expect that.
But Bolton and tactics were poor very poor.
I’m not sure how long this winning streak against them will go on I’m sure one day they’ll beat us I just hope it’s not in my life time
15 December 2024 at 12:28 pm #204566That save early in second half was turning point for me , had that gone in I think it would have lifted them and the crowd and we may have collapsed.
Tickle is worth so many points to the club it’s unbelievable, best goalkeeper this club has ever produced.
His assurance in the box is so good also , takes crosses so well and is like an extra defender.
Man of the match yesterday for me.15 December 2024 at 12:30 pm #204567A nice moment to enjoy and hopefully the players will carry that forward tinnext Saturday.
15 December 2024 at 5:45 pm #204571Yeah it was a proper feel good factor game a huge uplift after some dismal performances and results.
I’d be happy with 4 possibly 5 points before the New Year, we must start getting some consistency and get Stones back
