Dont know of any sites for u but just been delivering in Great Harwood so went to look at their old ground why i was there as it was my 1st ever away match back in 1972.Its derelict now which is such a shame cos it brought back fond memories of when i was a kid n just started watching latics.Got talking to an old fella who was walking past n he asked me did we win 4-3 which was true .Innit mad how both clubs fortunes have changed over the years

20 April 2010 at 3:42 pm #30151Just looking at the NPL final tables during the mid seventies suggests we dipped the couple of seasons before election to the league and finished second the year we got elected.
Other names that evoke great memories:
South Liverpool
Goole Town
BuxtonBig games were always against the likes of Stafford Rangers, Boston United, Altrincham and Scarborough.
One of the reasons I’m trying to get info is to nail my first game. I thought it was Autumn 1971 against Runcorn, a 3-1 win, but it must have been Autumn 1970 as I went to Maine Road in 1971. I’ll find it sooner or later.

Get in touch with Geoff Rourke if u know him . he told me the date score and scorer for my 1st game against Witton albion back in 1972 within 2 days of me asking him.He is super stats in my eyes.
20 April 2010 at 3:55 pm #30156I think Boston Utd won it in 78 and were a bit miffed we got the vote for the NPL Im sure it was Bath City who got the southern vote. A crowd of 8000 at Sringy v Stafford one year

20 April 2010 at 5:33 pm #30174Proper confused now, because I’ve spent forty years thinking Geoff Davies got at least two in that match?! :?
No recollection of any sendings off either but then again, I was only six :) Definitely that game though, result, opponents and night match confirm that. Thanks again ;)
