I find the headline of this report quite ironic, however, fair enough to the lad he has knuckled down since the summer’s proceedings and can show some of the others on the team how to apply themmselves.
8 November 2010 at 6:36 pm #50463Of course he would sound all positive as he s trying to entice clubs to bid for him. However it would be nice to see our captain coming out and saying whats what with the club.
Maybe Caldwell realises he is part of the problem.

Don’t think it matters what he says off the pitch as long as he keeps playing and scoring he’ll be gone regardless.
True about Caldwell though, think the captaincy should be a position thats earned and then the other players and fans respect that person.
Hard to find someone still here who fits that mould though maybe thats a problem we have, in that we have no natural leaders that spring to mind. Where’s a De Zeuuw when you need one!
8 November 2010 at 8:25 pm #50471Bit Arsh on Caldo seein as he`s ardly played this season.
Id give t`armband t`Rocky* me self.
(*Some knob sat behind me at Blackburn kept callin Antolin Alcaraz `Rocky` ffs,he was really gettin on me chunks we it!)
8 November 2010 at 9:42 pm #50479I’m still baffled by reading this message board how Nzog seems to be a vital part of the team. The last few matches I have paid particular attention to him and the amount of times he gives the ball away is unreal. If he can’t cut inside he’s buggered and very limited dribbling wise.
Caldwell will lose the team 10+ goals per season. Maybe I’m being too kind. He seems solid for a large part and then does something incredibly stupid and thus throwing a game away.
8 November 2010 at 10:29 pm #50489There is only one place nzog will be pulling away from in january and thats the DW, watch him fly down the anjou boulevard when the transfer window opens

9 November 2010 at 6:33 pm #50533And how many times does losing the ball count towards scoring a couple of goals? Could there have been more goals scored had he passed the bugger?
He’s a ball greedy player and when attacking the others seem disinterested in making a run as the end result will be him going solo and more than likely missing.
If I were so greedy I’d expect to be scoring a few goals like he is. Playing from the shop window and will be gone January.
Why watch a player who is dying to leave and doesn’t have any interest in the town or club? Another point of principle is should he be playing or should somebody else who wants to be here and play for the cause?
Very good these fans when he’s scoring, you soon forgot the debacle over the Birmingham move and you’ll be out with the knives again come January.
I would pick Cleverley over him. More productive on the ball as the final third doesn’t see much of it when Nzogbia especially has it. I read how disgruntled fans are at the lack of shots etc but fail to take note of how often the ball is lost in good positions by this player.

The same Cleverley who inspired our brilliant performance against Fulham I assume you mean ?
9 November 2010 at 9:56 pm #50551Bloody hell what are you like!
He’s had fits and starts and a judgement has been put upon him already? Did you do the same with Gomez?
Cleverley or not, my point still stands regarding Nzogbia as a footballer and a person. You failed to offer an opinion on that.
I also meant Cleverley in a side without Nzogbia, so Fulham is void.

No I didn’t do the same with Jordi always thought he would come good

Are you English?
10 November 2010 at 3:58 am #50604Very good these fans when he’s scoring, you soon forgot the debacle over the Birmingham move and you’ll be out with the knives again come January.Shop window or no shop window, you play your best players whilst they are still able to wear the shirt. I said the same about Chimbonda at the start of our second prem season.
And at least he’s shop windowing himself in every game, well in advance of January, unlike Figueroa, Valencia and Palacios a couple of seasons back who only decided to played well close to the window whenever we were playing the top 6.If Nzog goes in January he goes – no knives though. I haven’t forgotten about the Brum debacle, but wasn’t upset then as I’m pleased he didn’t join a relegation rival. I do wished tho he had joined a bigger club as I now wouldn’t be worrying about the goal drought he’ll leave. Had he gone in the summer we’d have had a more stable line up earlier on, as we arguably played two of our best games when he was left out of the side at the back end of August.
