This story has made me smile after going back to work, This is a very unusual comment for an agent to make these days but fair play to him and N’Zogbia, I can’t remember the last time someone committed to us.
Charles N’Zogbia’s agent has dismissed reports linking the Wigan star with a move away from the club in January.
Birmingham have been credited with an interest in the Frenchman, while former Latics boss Steve Bruce has also been linked with a move to lure N’Zogbia to Sunderland.
N’Zogbia’s agent Franck Peslerbe’s says the 23-year-old is focused on life at the DW Stadium and that Wigan will decide the player’s future if a bid does come in for his services.
“I am not surprised if other clubs are interested in Charles as he enjoyed many good performances for Wigan,” Peslerbe told skysports.com.
“However, Charles is 100 per cent focused on Wigan and the important games they have coming up.
“He is happy there after an unhappy time at Newcastle and he is enjoying playing under Roberto Martinez.
“If Charles was to leave it would be with Wigan’s agreement because Charles has a contract there.
“If a club comes in it will be Wigan’s decision and Charles wants to respect Wigan.”
Yes, you’re probably right. The agent is clearly paving the way for the “well, I told you weeks ago that Charlie wanted to stay so it must be the club that wants rid of him.”
The PFA should act as agent for all players and the clubs can have their own bloke, as they do now, and then agents could be binned completely. Simples.
