23 July 2010 at 2:16 am #40884griff im saying no more on this at the mo
but my next one will say
i told you soBicky, we all know people “in the know”, don’t we.
And it’s hardly big news that N’Zogbia might go so your “told you so” will count for nowt really even if he does.
23 July 2010 at 2:22 am #40885wouldnt want to,cant blame a guy who wants to double or treble his wages
but our leader came out with bullshit again
these players will only be sold to top clubs
sunderland,stoke wtf23 July 2010 at 2:27 am #40886only if its too sunderland,
23 July 2010 at 2:34 am #40888sunderland,stoke wtfIf a player, who is easily capable of playing for a club that could challenge for trophies, jumps ship at the first opportunity and wants to sign for a club who will be no better than treading water in mid-table for the next 5 or 6 years, rather then wait for a real “big” club to come in for him, then that’s his problem.
But at the end of the day he’ll have doubled his wages anyway.

sunderland, stoke wtfI thought you might have sussed Whelan and his soundbites by now. Every team in the Prem – with the possible exception of Blackpool – are bigger than us, which I suppose makes them top clubs. And if Sunderland offer £10m and Chelsea only £9m I suppose Whelan should only consider selling to Chelsea.
23 July 2010 at 3:08 am #40890Although it is frustrating to lose our better players, we have to realise that the books will always need balancing.
It could also be a case of Roberto building his own team with his players.
If all the players go that are being mentioned, at least replacements are/have been brought in.Rodellega…..Boselli
N’Zogbia……Moses
Bramble…….Alcaraz
Sharner……..McArthur
Melchiot…….GhouroriI know some of the above were already here, but that might have been a case of forward planning.
It would be good to keep all the best players and have two star players for each position, but that is never going to happen.
More signings are needed, and I am sure there will be more to come very soon.
Don’t forget, we also have Gomez, De Ridder, Scotland and Koumas waiting in the wings.23 July 2010 at 3:57 am #40893Those comparisons are ok, rodallega boselli i agree. n’zogbia moses is a fair shout. others are different options and we can only wait and see. centre halves at the minute are caldwell (injured), gou’who’ri and alcaraz. are gouhou and alcaraz due to start the 1st game? i’m not confident. i doubt martinez is happy with the squad at the minute. if we have to call on that birk amaya who played at oldham the other night i could foresee another record scoreline in the league. to lose n’zogbia would only dent our chances of getting off to the best start possible and we would be on the back foot early doors. poor prospects i think.

But… he won’t be sold for 8 million….will he? :roll:23 July 2010 at 2:06 pm #40899If we only get 8 mill for n’zogbia it’s an absolute joke. We allegedly paid nearly 7 mill for him when he was not even playing for Newcastle and now he has just had a great season.
It should be at least 15 mill and even then in this day and age that’s cheap. If Milner is going to leave Villa for close to 30 mill why not?
23 July 2010 at 2:15 pm #40901Anonymous
With todays over inflated prices anything less than £13mil for Zog would be a slap on the face.
23 July 2010 at 2:40 pm #40902But… he won’t be sold for 8 million….will he? :roll:If he wants to go, he will go.
If he goes, you think Whelan will not squeeze out every last cent that he can? If that’s £8m, fair dos. If it’s not, it’s Whelan’s business, not ours.

23 July 2010 at 5:11 pm #40917tight arsed owd fooker, griff are you his love child or his bitch on the sideNope, I just understand how things work. I also get that he has made £300m for himself and fund a tin-pot football club from the bottom to top tier of English football without putting it ridiculously in debt – apart from to himself, that is. Tight get!
Therefore, I am happy to leave the financial decisions to him and concentrate myself on Roberto’s fashion sense.
23 July 2010 at 5:20 pm #40922there you go griff why do you think its with football that i call owd bastido tight ?
i used to work for the owd fooker. -
