I know lods of people that work or have worked for him, they all say he’s a tight barsteward. I think he pays the going rate for all his jobs, JJB when it was his, payed the same as it does now, it pays the same as most other factories. his old pie shop pays the same as most other pie shops. people thimk he should pay over the odds because he done well for himself. and as Griff says, I am happy to put my faith in a man that has brought a team from near extinction to the best league in the world.

If only we could have our very own Peter Ridsdale!!!!

You can alway tell the ones on here that did. Never have a good word for him, regardless. Makes your opinions on anything he is involved in pointless, really. :(

I’ve never worked for him. I’ve met him.

Do I have grounds to slag him off? No, not really. I’m just going off what I see happening. But I suppose that at the end of the day, he IS actually running the club in a sensible way, as opposed to Portsmouth or Hull. I can see that. But the mind still boggles at the low price of Bramble’s sale.

I don’t buy into the “we wouldn’t have a club without him” theory, as I believe we would. Though on what level, is a matter of opinion. We certainly wouldn’t be where we are without him. I remember his speech in the supporters club that day, back in 1997, after we’d won the 3rd Division. I was busy trying to wipe Colin Greenall’s sweat off my hand, after it had accidentally gone on his armpit as I offered the players my congratulations. I remember the cheers when he said we’d eventually one day get to the Premiership. I’m not sure if I actually BELIEVED him though, if I’m honest.

All we can do is support Roberto, the boys, and indeed, Whelan. And see what happens.

There seems to be a paradox here.
On the one hand he gets slagged of for being a “tight-arsed git” and on the other gets slagged off for selling players too cheaply.
          Can’t be both, can it?

Aye. Go figure, as they say in Parbold.

I would hate to see Charlie go, but if bobby wants to persist with Hugo out wide now Boselli is here, then I wouldn’t mind seeing Moses given the other wide role.
He gives me the impression that given a decent run, will take the prem by storm.
Charlie has done great for us, but has had more bad seasons in the prem than good ones so far in his career, whatever the reasons.

            From Matlock to ManU
            What a journey!
