I don’t think Cattermole necessarily wanted away, I think he was kind of forced out when Whelan saw pound signs in his eyes. He didn’t give that many free kicks btw.

I commented because yours was the first post I saw today that was total drivel. (apart from all Bickymon’s about Whelan :) )
Cattermole made it clear he wanted to go and therefore it was Whelan’s duty to get rid and get as much as he could.

Not a ‘job well done’ .. as we have yet to get another centre-mid since Cattermole left… that is anywhere near the player Cattermole was.

Diame is a better player than cattermole!
Admittedly Diame and McCarthy are both good. But I still think Cattermole has the edge over them both. In the future though they may be better.
