DW charged by the FA
Just read an item on Newsnow (can’t suss out how to copy and paste on my Tab) and the Jewish Chronicle have tried to find any Jewish “friends” of Dave’s. Not surprisingly they failed to find anyone in Cheetham Hill who would admit to knowing him

Am I right in thinking that no racist charges have been dished out ?
With the benefit of his 50 years of wheeling and dealing in the retail trade perhaps if he’d added the words “from my experience” to his quote about Jews being money obsessed I would have thought that he couldn’t be criticised. No doubt he’ll get hammered by the FA now just to placate the media.

the charge also states that it is an “aggravated breach” as it included a reference to ethnic origin and/or race and/or nationality and/or belief
I don’t know whether that constitutes a charge of racism or not
So “abusive and/or insulting and/or constitute improper conduct” can mean pish off nobhed
“and/or bring the game into disrepute” the ref was a tosser, it’s a fix
To me it sounds like their sounding him out after Whelan said he would step down if charged. What I think Whelan meant was if he charged with racist remarks which the above clearly does not say.
The only clear thing is, the Lawyers will be rubbing their hands with this one

Looks like we be will needing a new chairman. Mr Whelan has already been convicted imho the F A had till Monday to charge him but did it immediately. He hasn’t got a prayer this is a bloody witch hunt. On the very same day he made his gaff, Charlie Austin and a couple of Burnley players made nasty remarks on twitter about Gemma Collins labelling her “the female shrek” amongst other unflattering comments yet nothing has been said. One rule for one and so on. :angry: :angry:
He was stepping down in jan anyway, his grandson will become chairman with whelan still pulling the strings.
He was always going to get fined so the FA can look like they care when behind closed doors they’ll be saying similar things. No doubt a few choice words have been said about members of FIFA by our cleaner than clean FA. (didn’t want to use the actual saying for fear of being racist)
Dave will step down, pay his fine and head to Barbados to run the club from there. Not much will change club wise apart from a name on a door.
What he said was offensive because someone found it offensive and as it was due to race, it’s racist. Sad state of affairs but that’s how it is these days. It no longer seems to matter what context you’re using it in. Unless it’s offensive towards caucasian British people of course.
