Dont you just love this sport and “its fans
think after tonight there will be a few fans who may reply to this topic, walking away from the HJ tonight was one of the most awful experiences of my life, not just in rugby league but in my life.
Walking past the pub opposite central station (cannot remember the name) where about 20 Wigan fans, mixed sex and mix race before anyone says anything. We got marched away towards he town centre, about 10 Wire fans decided that they would make the situation heated. I foolishly decided to be peace maker between the rival fans only for one Wire fan to run at me and “stick the nut on me”.
He didnt just stop at that, after head butting me he then carried on and punched my girlfriend in the face (looks like a broken nose) I have never ever been so shocked in my life, after trying to re gain my sences i pulled everyone away and attempted to head towards the train station.
The police are involved, the warrington club have admitted that they have a huge issue with fans causing problems.
This will be taken further, anyone who decided to hit a woman should expect what is coming…..I will report more after speaking to the police again in the morning.

dont worry wigmon there are a few wigan and ex wigan players(and from the rumours quite a few other players) who can get you some non-presciption relief for your sore nose – well it will certainly clear your blocked airways anyway.
BTW do you think that thug who stuck the head on you had been using a 10 minute a game worrier player as a role model/teacher,after all he is pretty good at it,ask any bus driver.

My first RL game was when i tagged along after a night out for the 1984 Challenge cup final versus Widnes and saw the ‘family supporters’ of our (in) famous Rugby league club dismantle London Euston station and the surrounding streets upon their arrival.The following year they greeted Arsenal supporters travelling to an away game by patting their heads with their knuckles.
I seem to also remember them taking a very large mob of casuals over to Salford for a game later that same year.Not been since i dont like the game but it still goes on however our local media seem to disregard this completely painting the stereotypical image of fat jolly types who hail from Ince,Scholes,Chorley and Leyland.
Warrington though is a nasty narrow minded town in my view and the behavour you mention doesnt surprise me.
Hope they catch these thugs.… because it’s only a matter of time before the chuckers’ lot and the rugby post blame it on football supporters.
