So much for keeping our players this transfer window.

Like the way he says that he can go to a top 6 club if the money is right. Funny how Sunderland are currently 6th. What if they go down a spot at weekend…..deal over?
20 January 2011 at 6:25 pm #56119what do you expect when we have a joke of a manager in charge who talks more rubbish with every interview he gives MARTINEZ OUT :o
20 January 2011 at 6:26 pm #56120And people still worship the lying two faced git, He doesnt care any more, he has made his money
20 January 2011 at 7:02 pm #56123He does sometime speak with forked tongue

On sky sports on the Wigan Athletic link there is another article from a couple of weeks ago where he told the Wigan Evening post it was highly unlikely anyone would depart.
Does he realise what he says sometimes. It doesn’t bother me if we have to sell to survive, that is life, but i hate him making statements/promises then changing his mind making himself look like a fool.
The fact that he says NZogbia can go to a top 6 club, is obvious he is trying to make excuses for his departure to Sunderland otherwise why would would he try to qualify his statement.
Looks like he is realising he will need to clear the wage bill to prepare for life in the championship. I don’t mind him being cautious/realistic just him making false statements.

If the mackems had been in eight place –
“We’ll let him move to a top eight club”
If they had been bottom of the table –
“We’ll let him move if another premiership club comes in for him”
Fair enough if he has to go – just wish DW would stop treating us like mugs…
21 January 2011 at 11:59 am #56149When will people realise that when players want to go – and N’Zobgbia obviously does – then they go.
It’s wrong but that’s the way it is. It’s then the club’s duty to get as much money as they can for him.
21 January 2011 at 12:24 pm #56150totally agree griff, but it does make us all look daft when they come out with some of these statements.
21 January 2011 at 12:38 pm #56151Got to agree with the above
If Charles wants to go then why not just say something to the effect of
‘Charles wants to leave, he wants to move on to what he thinks in his eyes is a bigger club so under the circumstances we will not stand in his way so long as we receive the market value for what is a very good premiership player’If it is Charles decision to go then the club must say so
If it is the clubs decision to let him go as we need the money – then the club must also say so. Just juggle the words above around and insert ‘for economic reasons’
Instead the club ‘flower it up’ – the fans become sceptical and it ends up that we dont believe anything the listening club says anymore
21 January 2011 at 12:42 pm #56152What gets me is he and Bob come out with the same bullshoite every transfer window. We don’t need to sell, no one will be leaving this transfer window etc.
Is he taking the pi$$ out of us???

It’s all smoke and mirrors for the benefit of the press. If they do comemtn along those lines and then he doesn’t go (as per what happened in the summer) then they have to defend those comments about a (unhappy) player that is still at the club.I dont need the club to tell me the truth about every deal that might or might not be happening. I need them to get the best deal for WAFC given the cards they are dealt.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, … 58,00.htmlSo going off that I can only presume we are lining up a move for a striker ….NOT !! :?

Why can’t we wait till summer to sell N’Zogbia? That way we possibly still have the chance of staying up and we still get a good size fee in the summer.
I accept that we are a selling club for financial reasons but why do we always get shafted and let clubs walk all over us.
Ian Holloway was asked yesterday regarding clubs sniffing around Charlie Adam and his value. Ian Hollaway replied £46 million. The prize for staying in the premiership. Can Blackpool afford not to sell their prize assets?
Can we have a manager who can stand up to his chairman and show the same passion (actually looking like it), or do we have a club who wants positivity from its fans but sends out none in return.
Keeping N’Zogbia is not going to send us bankrupt and if we give some our young signings a chance to develop around the core of our team, then we let N’Zogbia go on our terms and act like a club that wants to be competetive or we might aswell just demote ourselves and give in.
21 January 2011 at 2:40 pm #56171We seem like an easy target for bigger teams to pick our best players. Other clubs ask for silly money for their player eg Cahill at Bolton been linked with a move away for the last 5 windows but Bolton want £20m. Hopwever we accept much lower bids (Cattermole and £8m for Chalie in the summer)
21 January 2011 at 4:35 pm #56179The difference being N’Zogbia wants to go now and would likely be a disruptive influence if he was forced to stay until the summer.
I’m guessing that the likes of Cahill are happy to stay until the summer, hence their club putting an astronomical figure on them to leave now.
