What will be will be at the end of the day we will still have a club to support and not end up like Portsmouth and some other bigger clubs you could mention

Yep i agree, i have no problem with our policy on player in player out and the necessity to balance the books, it just seems we are wandering into relegation far too easily.
Since Bob has been here there has been no consistency and personally i don’t think he is getting anywhere near what the players are capable of, due to his stubborness on playing formations.

Maybe so but at the end of the day due to the income and expenditure side of the club it is hard to imagine the type of manager that coukd be brought in to rectify the situation and work on the budget of the club .

Allardyce would save us. Not my favourite manager but his record speaks for itself. May cost more than Martinez but stand to stay in the prem in my opinion.
We would have to say bye to the glorious passing game that we have taken the premiership by storm with though. :)

Yeah may have to have a quiet word with myself for mentioning Allardyce and Wigan in the same sentence. :D

That’s a great example, cracking game……however, if we are showing dvd’s of recent games I would recommend the recent game…….. Blackpool v Liverpool. Watched it at Bloomfield (Pal lives in the area) and to watch that ‘second ball’ challenge, never say die attitude, fitness (driven by adrenaline), and play to the final whistle attitude – your ‘pantomine’ picture is next years romance.
Anyone who thinks that going to Bloomfield Road to exert a little bit of retribution for our first day shocker is hopefully booked into an ‘all inclusive’ B&B in the quieter North Shore. They are a testing team and we could learn a few lessons on ….loudness, passion and commitment – FFS their Master of Ceremonies (our rugby supporting record player) gets them going before they get out of the tunnel.
‘Younger’ people forget that we, the supporters, play an important part in the teams development.
We can make or break our players esteem…….booing, calling names, asking for sackings, being more ‘tactically’ better than these finely tuned atheletes, being part time referee’s, FIFA magnates, financial wizards and corporate businessmen (bean counters for want of a better name) and all you critics……..put your f$£ckin boots on a do a better job.
……………….only those with a strategic corporate policy making remit within their personal job specification need reply.
;)

Didn’t we draw with Arsenal and Leeds get beat 3-1?
At the moment the thing missing with our team is results. With a bit more luck and a bit more “know how” we could and should be alongside the likes of Sunderland.
Make your mind up you either want results or you want to play superb but lose. I give up… :roll:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!22 January 2011 at 11:37 am #56251Anonymous
Agree about the passion and commitment but do you ever think Martinez is capable of generating this? I think he is giving it his all, just don’t know whether at this level he is capable of managing top level players.
There would be no point having a forum if people didn’t give their honest opinions, right or wrong.

I think he is but as soon as it’s 0-0 after ten minutes the immature fans get on the teams back and then downhill from there

No different than alot of clubs. After 6 months to a year maybe but coming up to 18months and playing the same style and lack lustre football with the occasional flash (and i mean occasional) of brilliance thrown in, there aren’t many fans who wouldn’t start to get disillusioned.
If you pay your money and you see your team reaching their potential , which i believe is a few places higher than we are now ,then you have to be realistic but it is becoming apparent that we aren’t getting the best from our players. I think there is only so long you can put up with this before it is natural that fans start to get disgruntled.
There are many clubs where managers have been hounded out with alot less patience than Wigan have shown Martinez. I agree, i don’t boo at games it is counter productive but when many passes are going astray in a formation that the players struggle with, pardon me for not lighting the blue touch paper and showing passion and enthuisiasm myself when we can’t see that on the pitch.
22 January 2011 at 2:03 pm #56261Quelle surprise ! Grass roots football gets more enticing every day.
