Wigan Athletic’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals last Sunday has earned Uwe Rosler’s side the performance of the week award for the second time in eight days.
The Latics’ 4-1 win over Nottingham Forest won them the award a week earlier and the LMA, whose panel decide the winners, describe the consecutive wins as “an extremely rare feat”.
I wonder if Uwe signs books? I bet he’d sign it better than that Spanish prick we used to have as a manager
13 March 2014 at 7:17 pm #128633I don’t think last night will make it a hat-trick.
Nevertheless, they persevered against industrious opponents, even if they relied on some good fortune.
They’re away to Ipswich next – that will be another good test.
And I like signing books!

Talking about books, is your new one out soon, I need some prizes for the Josephs Goal walk to Bolton and the raffle on our Wembley buses(donated by the way).
Just think a Chris Griffin first edition signed by the latest ‘bright upcoming manager’ we have had, it could be worth a fortune in the future.
You may even get a new ‘facebook photo’ on the pitch out of it as well.

It’s been out since before Christmas, actually. I’ll have to speak to my co-author on this one, but I am quite sure we will be very happy to donate some copies. Although, as this book isn’t specifically football/Latics related, getting them signed might be harder. Won’t stop me trying, though. :)

LMB, are you looking for items to raffle? Would a signed latics ball from 90’s be of any interest?

We would welcome anything as prizes if people think they are suitable, you can see I am scraping the bottom of the barrel asking for one of griffs books, so a decent prize would be a godsend. ;)

* I’m not sufficiently educated to have known that off the bat, by the way… I googled ;)

* I’m not sufficiently educated to have known that off the bat, by the way… I googled ;)[/quote]It was the publicity one, as you, my education doesn’t stretch to any of his other quotes or works for that matter, the only reason I know the publicity quote is because it has been wrongly attributed to other people in the past and when I read somewhere who actually said it it has always stuck.
I posted it anyway just in case you or anyone else thought my reply to jimmyc was serious.Congratulations if the, eunuch quote was thrown back in my direction, if you meant it I certainly bowled you the longest of long hops, although in my defence I don’t tend to be a critic of anyone with a skill, with the exception of football managers, and even that is only opinion.

No, I didn’t think you were having a pop. I’m far too thick-skinned for that!
14 March 2014 at 2:02 pm #128671How many Wembley coaches are you doing, LMB?
