The only consolation about tonight is that, from the team he put out, it now looks like Martinez knows his first XI. We put the reserves out and Stam, the Caldwells, Diaime. Thomas and DiSanto need to stay as just that – reserves, with places on the subs’ bench for Pollitt, McArthur, Lopez and McManaman. Assuming Boycie’s fit, I’d say Bob’s first XI (and it’s not a bad one) is now …

This a joke? Sure made me giggle.
Stam and Di Santo aren’t that bad. Diame is one of our best players by far!! Gary Caldwell is also a good player in my opinion.
You have named Watson in a starting line-up? The lad is awful! Not deserved of a starting place in ANY prem club IMO!

In your opinion being the right word

Are you lot joking? Must agree with the part about Diame being one of our better players?
Diame is effing useless James, I would have either Watson or McArthur in ahead of him any day.
Boycie is far better than Stam
martinh is not far off with his team.
Tonights match highlighted the fact we will need to strengthen the squad whether we stay up or go down as eight of the eleven outhere tonight are not good enough for the Championship nevermind the PL.
Stam looked promising at the start of the season, but I agree that I would rather see Boyce playing at RB.
I think we need to look into getting a LB as, at the minute, what sort of cover do we have for Figueroa (who I feel has been a bit hit-and-miss for a good few months)?
I don’t see why Watson is part of the starting XI either, we have better options in the form of McCarthy/McCarthur, and Cleverley.
At the end of the day we should be performing better, as in terms of the players we have the team isn’t dreadful — just the way they’re being told to play their game.
I must stress that it’s Bob’s preferred XI, not mine.
I’d drop Watson for McArthur too, if playing 451.
Or drop him for McManaman to play 442.
Though I’ve also got a sneaking suspicion that Gohouri would make way for Captain Calamity, and that Bob prefers big Steve at RB to Boycie.
I’d say it should be more than a sneaking that Gohouri would make way for Caldwell as i think its obvious that Caldwell is a shoe in to start when fit.
I’d hope you’re wrong about Gohouri over Boyce but I suspect you’re right
Utter Tripe ! . Glad I did’nt pay to watch last nights game of second string players.
The worst game of football I’ve seen in a long time from the West Stand, struggling to pass the ball quickly and move into space. No instinctive play making. Also the behaviour of some so called fans last night was pathetic. Not just in the East Stand but Bolton fans in west stand and again outside the ground.
Also, what’s this, a holiday/training camp in the sun prior the last few games, a pat on the back before the jobs done ?, where’s this rumour come from.
Only consolation, it wasn’t on tv.
