I dont know if Swansea is a bigger club in football terms but..
Average attendance is 19,946 and the population of Swansea is approx 240K.
For arguments sake if every one of those “average attendance fans” paid for the cheapest season ticket that would yield approx 8.9M a season (£449 cheapest season ticket).
We have an average attendance of 18,633 and the town of Wigan a population of approx 80K.
So based on the above average attendance assuming everyone was a season ticket at the lowest price it would come to 4.7M ( Cheapest £255 ).
Before anyone jumps down my neck the above are obviously very rough figures and will be higher or lower depending on the percentage of season tickets vs match day tickets sold.
This means an extra 4.2M available for Swansea a year and if that was all put into the wage budget it would mean approx an extra 80K a week available for player wagers.
That is 8 players they could offer 10K a week more than us :(
