Only ever seen one used once and Graham Oates shred direct from a corner faith it. Anyone remember it used in any other games.
6 September 2016 at 11:24 am #150533Fooking snowed that day, and the pitch wasn’t cleared; they just got on with it in them days !

I think it was 2-1 to us, with Graham Oates scoring direct from a corner.
He may have got the other goal aswell, but I’m not 100% sure.6 September 2016 at 11:23 pm #150541Halifax if I remember reet my feet were that cold I put two breeze blocks over my shoes stood on the town end freezing my fookin spuds off. 7 September 2016 at 1:14 am #150542That’s before my time, but remember us playing Bournemouth at SP in 87 (week before Leeds FA cup?)
…snowed and game ended up being abandoned after about an hour..orange ball might have been used then.7 September 2016 at 1:31 am #150543The win against Halifax was one of many the mighty blues have had against higher ranked sides and at the time a big upset in the cup. Strongest team possible played with only one sub incidently which wouldn’t be a bad thing if it returned.
A shame we went out 4 nil at Wrexham in the next round.7 September 2016 at 1:33 am #150544Yeah 2-1 to us and I,m pretty sure Halifax wore an orange shirt tho may be wrong.

A shame we went out 4 nil at Wrexham in the next round.Oh boy do I remember the Wrexham game, that’s when it kicked off seriously and a friggin big Welsh bloke threw me onto the pitch so I wouldn’t get caught up in the trouble.

…snowed and game ended up being abandoned after about an hour..orange ball might have been used then.I remember one game where we won 3 – 0, the snow was quite bad, the game went ahead & was played with a white ball
7 September 2016 at 1:59 pm #150549One weekend only a handful of games survived the snow and frost. Arsenal had undersoil heating and Leicester had the air bubble Latics had straw. It was that cold people had stalactites hanging from their nostrils lol, made Boundary park feel like Tenerife in August. Played Wimbledon in the most boring 0-0 game ever witnessed.
7 September 2016 at 5:44 pm #150550I was there early doors as the club asked for volunteers to come and help clear the straw from the pitch.
8 September 2016 at 12:43 pm #150563I remember Latics playing Fulham at Springfield Park in the Deehan 96/97 title winning season.
It finished 1-1 but there was snow on the pitch & I’m pretty certain they used an orange ball8 September 2016 at 1:01 pm #150564Ah the good old Wembley Trophy ball, that was orange was it not?.
