… is looking a bit thin. My thoughts are:

1, the “1 in, 1 out” policy is not going to be enough at the moment.

2, we can’t really afford to wait until Jan 31st to start bringing people in.

3, does Whelan being in Barbados hamstring our ability to do deals in this period?

Off to a meeting now. Discuss. :)

      Agree with you.

I’m not hearing much about us being linked to players, and yet I am expecting some interest in ours, probably Nzogbia, Rodallega, and I believe Redknapp’s been praising Diame and Thomas as well.

Knowing the mentality of the powers that be at our club, they’ll be thinking “get McCarthy and Moses fit, and along with Lopez coming in, we’ll be alright”.

No we won’t. My big worry was that we’d lose Cleverley, back to United, and then sell NZogbia, losing the flair from our side. It might well happen.

The problem is now, imagine you’re somebody like, oh I don’t know, Robbie Keane (for example). Wigan express an interest. You’d look at the table and think “second from bottom? no thanks”.

I predict another loan signing, and either a foreigner or a Championship player.

1, it depends on what the meeting is about and is it absolutely necessary

2, could this meeting have been avoided by emailing your colleagues

3, does a meeting best utilise your time management during your daily schedule

4, are there any fit birds to ogle when the sales directors presentation is boring you senseless

      1, yes it is
      2, no it couldn’t
      3, today, yes
4, no, and no-one will be bored senseless as it is my meeting.
5, before you ask, yes, they’re late for the meeting. For this, someone will pay…

When are Moses and McCarthy expected back?

While I think these two should slot back into the team they are unlikely to be back in peak match fitness for a fair few weeks yet.

We need reinforcements now. Question is, can we afford to wait a month for Cleverley to be fit or should we cancel his loan and get someone else in?

I see Blackburn are being linked with Jay Emmanuel Thomas. This is a player who could replace Cleverley and would be perfect for our system seeing as he has played as a right footer cutting in from the left side of a three pronged attack.

The priority for me is to get this Boselli situation sorted out so we either keep him and show some faith in him, or we ship him out and get someone else in. The fact he wasn’t even on the bench last night suggests somethng might well be in the offing.

But perhaps the most important player to acquire is an equivalent to Van Der Vart so we have someone who can link up play and score goals. We won’t get anyone as good as him, but we need that type of player.

I wonder whether somebody like Tuncay could play that role off Rodders? Could be worth a shout and we have been linked with him before.

Before I go, I must give another mention to Piscu. Let’s give him a full game against Hull on Saturday to build up his match sharpness so we can get him in to replace Caldwell at the back.

Let’s not mess around here, whatever we do transfer wise in the next couple of weeks, may well have a big effect on Roberto’s future.

If he is weak and we don’t make any substantial signings, then I think he’s cooked his goose.

Funny how both West Ham and Villa jobs are considered under threat, and yet not a single word on our manager, despite an abysmal season.

WE know that we need new players. Does the manager and chairman?

        #54827

Why would the media think our manager was at risk of losing his job? Our chairman very publicly said he would remain in charge even if we got relegated.

In fact, bookies should not be pricing him up on the sack race because everyone knows he will still be here next season.

Vat, I think is because everyone expects Villa and West Ham to do better. We’re seen as the relegation candidates each year, and anything higher than 18th is seen as an achievement.

I caught Bobby’s interview on Sky Sports News this morning where he said somet along the lines of that they were looking at reinforcements anyway & our current injury situation has added a sense of urgeny to that search so i think its safe to say new faces will be brought in.
Exactly how may & who, is anybody’s guess

I think that would be a good buy, but I noticed he started against United the other night. Might be a sign that he is back in favour now.

We’re probably more likely to be the Premier league club that has bid for this mon:-

        Permission to speak?

Would prefer Tuncay, but this lad wouldn’t be a bad shout. He is willing to take a man on and can handle himself.

He’s got a bit of a reputation for his off-field antics, so he should fit in perfectly down King Street.

          Preston are after him.

Maurice Lindsay said “On hearing that Goodwillie might be available, I wanted to make it clear immediately that if we can slip him into our aspirations, we’d me more than happy to take him.”

I did wonder about Mr Willie yesterday. Would be cheap but scoring in the Scottish Premier League is one thing, scoring in this league is something else as we have found all season.

I think we have to be realistic. We are not going to be able to attract the kind of player who is going to score a dozen goals by the end of the season. What we are looking for is a player who is going to nick a goal here and there who will turn some of our draws into wins.

I don’t care if we continue to average a goal a game or even slightly less than that if we pick up a few wins between now and the end of the season to keep us up.

Why not both, particularly if Boselli is on his toes – first time for everything.

Both would be great, but I have a feeling we’ll not get Tuncay.
