Our youth

Last night I watched an interview with Les Ferdinand and his role as a Director of Football and QPR.
Near to the end he mentions about youth on loan.
So basically Ferdinand never interfered with the managers team selection. The manager at QPR persuaded Ferdinand and the board to sign on loan and pay alot of money for a young lad even though QPR scouts had their doubts and warned the manager he might not be right.

The young lad had a couple of stinkers and Ferdinand said to the manager:-

“All’s I want is one of our own lads to play as bad as that because if they did you’d be saying you don’t want him anywhere near the 1st team, but because we’ve paid a bit of money for the lad ?.”

Ferdinand also said:-

“This what I mean about developing young lads, you’ll take a young lad say from an Arsenal or Tottenham and let him play bad for say 10 games but one of your own gets one game plays bad he’s out the door”.

Exactly what’s happened at Wigan, loads of very young lads who’ve played zero games other than their old youth teams youth sent to us so we can develop them as players, give them game time regardless (probably written in a contract) and then shipped back with 20-30 games under their belts were ours ,?

Ours are sent out on loan to non league far lesser standard while we bring through someone else’s kids.

Tell me please someone, were is the f*ckin sense in that ??. I’m sure half these loans players weren’t cheap and tbh half are nothing more than average.

I always remember when we played Arsenal u21’s here the other year in the EFL trophy. They came here with one or two who’d played the odd game for Arsenal.

Aasgaard that day ran the show, he was head n shoulders above any Arsenal player all of a similar age.

If Mr Danson wants us to be self sufficient run our own show then firstly we need to develop our own players in L1 and they and put an end the drives of young lads on loan.

I would love to know why we send certain young lads out on loan then bring in lads costing dollar bills who are basically p!ss poor average. How demoralising is that to any young lad been replaced by someone your age and no better? well done Wigan, we lead the way in bringing through other teams youth players pat yourself on the back.

Stones and Payne should never in a million years ever be sent out on loan, bench n minutes at Wigan is what they need because if anyone tells me that Hugills any better than Stones their deluded.

And at the end of the day who makes that decision to bring in inexperienced kids and loan out inexperienced kids of our own ?
