Martin Waghorns goal yesterday was pretty spectacular. Talking in the car in the ridiculous traffic jam from Beech Hill to The Boers Head we were trying to recall other overhead kicked goals by Latics players. Obvious one was David Lowes against Brentford. Another funny enough was Powells against our six fingered friends from Horwich last season. Can anyone remember any others.
That traffic at the Boers Head was a joke. Wouldn’t it be simple to have one Police Officer waving traffic through to clear the bulk of match traffic but the GMP and obvious don’t go together really do they.
Yep Winston white scored one at home against hull in the first few mins did Powell not score one against Bolton a few years ago
Didn’t Amir Zaki score a cracker at Liverpool? Was miles better than Rooneys which came off his shin but still got voted best goal in prem history..
That’s the best one I can recall.Andy Liddell scored a belter at home to Preston from the edge of the area in 1999 or 2000
Unfortunately one of their guys slammed in a 30 yard volley not long after to equalise in a 2-2 draw that even brought applause from the Latics faithful
