McCarthy has to be the man for the job, and sadly, I can see him doing quite well with them.

Diego Maradona? There’s more chance of Peter Kay getting the job.

They could always sell their ground to the worriers, that’s worth a few quid, good deal for all concerned. Maybe give them that thompkins dude in exchange, I’ve heard he’s the best thing to come out of Milton Keynes since the A5130.

Slippery slope they’re on, and it could happen to lots of clubs, including us, funny how we can’t seem to be grateful for the shite we’ve got eh?!

Feel a bit sorry for them really-meet loads of their supporters through my job and they generally only have good things to say about Latics despite the local rivalry.
I was gutted to lose them and Blackburn last season and we will miss the matches against them this season wont we?
Give me the Reebok and Ewood park against Loftus (subbuteo replica) road and Carrow rd any day!
                    No laughter from me.

Aye, What is the point of having local rivals if you cant play them?

Me too. It even gets a mention in the opening chapter of my next book:-

The competitive fix was provided by a ten team-strong Subbuteo league in which myself and nine of my schoolmates played a whole season on a home and away basis. There were no baying crowds of course to provide home advantage but a subbuteo pitch placed strategically on a bumpy stretch of bedroom carpet was worth its weight in gold. I had a particularly tricky foot-long ridge in my bedroom along which my right winger used to give opposing left backs a torrid time.

One guy was not so fortunate with home advantage though because his mother was so house-proud she wouldn’t let us play in his house. I bet they had no kinks in their carpet anyway so it probably didn’t do him any harm playing all his matches away from home.

Another shameless plug from our esteemed author, when are you doing the rounds on the talkshows, book in hand?
And do the mods need to put a big ‘P’ on the pages where you plug your wares?

I’ve got an idea for you next book, just a title:

The opinionated ramblings of a pompous bald oaf.

Got a certain ring to it eh? (winky thing)

                        :)

“The opinionated ramblings of a pompous bald oaf”

Accurate, but there are at least a couple of words in that title that are a bit too long for a lot of this forum’s readerhsip ;)
