I think the problem with Shinnie is that he has been used to playing at a higher level where the midfielders get more time on the ball. It’s going to take him time to adjust to the blood and thunder of League 1 football. You can see he is a good player and once he gets used to this League he is going to be a top player for us. I do agree that Max Power is far more effective playing in midfield for us. He is street wise at this level and offers more energy and aggression in that position. We now have Rea and McGrath so there is a lot of competition for places in midfield and that can only be a good thing.

Gotta disagree with you there, Shinnie played 40 league games for Derby 20-21 season and they scraped up with a point.

I thought Rea and MacGrath played well on their debuts. A player of his so called class Shinnie should p1ss a Division like this and boss it very similar style as a Barry Bannan but no were nr as good.

I hope he improves I truly do but I’ve seen nothing what so ever to make me think different in 3 games.
If he’s so good he’d improve us, good quality players improves sides not lower it.

Magennis is my worry.Had a chance in window to bring a target man in and Stockton would have been my choice particularly after his performance against us. I haven’t seen anything to suggest he is the answer but will keep faith as in his defence the service to him has been poor. I think wev’e laboured for a while albeit eeked results out at Morcambe and Doncaster. Sheff Wed is a big game and would be fabulous to cement our top 2 position with a win .Would be great to do it in style too……keep Rotherham looking over their shoulder.

Going to give Shinnie a few more games yet. This guy was Derby’s player of the season last season so he must have something about him.One thing for sure is he has got competition for his place so he has got to start producing soon. As for Magennis, he does not look 100% fit to me ,I would keep him on the bench to bring on last 10/15 minutes if things are not going well ,until he has built his fitness up.

Player of the season in a side that stayed up by the skin of their teeth ummmmmm doesn’t impress me tbh.

The January window is not to build sidesitsto add players injuries and improve the already settled squad, in our case push for promotion. These players shouldn’t be coming here injured or in need of playtime they need to be fit, ready, and capable of slotting straight into an side playing a particular style.
I’m of the opinion that, he might be a decent player but not for us. His sideway and backward passing is the easy way out, fcuk me you could get a player from Ami’s do that.
When in possession he’s constantly caught with out while with the ball and most forward passed balls go astray. Now if you wanna say that’s bollox the I suggest you get your eyes tested and go watching the Chubbies on a Friday, they see things in a different light

So we haven’t got forking time to wean him him let him settle he’s gotta perform from the off.

As for Magennis ? I pray to God he shows us something because right now he doesn’t look good enough.
Just pray Lang doesn’t get a proper knock.

Watch the Chubbies, you have got to be joking and I have 20/20 vision. Let’s see how he gets on tomorrow night. Sheffield Wed away , big stage , big crowd we need a big performance.

It’s time for the big platers to stand up and be counted.
Key player injuries long and short term means stand in players need to shows us what they got.
