Barnsley have started using social media to get people to do song requests for the tannoy announcer to play. I think we should try this.
Not sure about anybody else, but I’m a bit sick of hearing The Snake and Northern Soul. It’s a bit boring now. We need something a bit upbeat and cranked up a bit. Here’s a few I’d like to hear….

Hell of a song, isn’t it? Any decent rock covers band could do well to open with that song.
Crank it up over the tannoy. Get people buzzing and up for the game.
I don’t care really what they play, just turn it fucking down a bit and off altogether once the players come out.

Bloody Hell Argus , me an all…… Sam Apple Pie , Hustler, UPP (poor man’s ELP) either Scorpions or UFO (cant remember fully but one of the Schenker brothers was in) and some others who I can’t recall but the best received turn I saw there was from the slightly out of place but rapturously received Kursaal Flyers ….yeah I know

If you play the right song you can get the atmosphere going. The only time there is one at Anfield is when YNWA is played.

Saw Sam Apple Pie at JR’s Club in Blackpool circa 81/82 and there were only about 10 people there and 6 of them were us lot! Our kid got up on stage at one point and shouted ‘Sam Apple Pie’ through mic midway through one of the numbers , happy days !
I saw Hustler supporting Queen at Preston Guild Hall in 1974. Top band.
I don’t remember seeing them at the Casino though. Saw quite a few gig there. Those were the days. I think I saw Dennis Delight about 3 times there.

‘Ivan The Balkan’ ;) DD are still gigging but Frank is the only original member and they don’t really play any of the old stuff from back in the day!
Played Baba O,Reilly tonight vat at Riverside what a song and sounds awesome through the pa system cranked up.
