Stoke are looking to offload him.
That should serve as another reminder to any of our players who think they are Johnny Big Bollocks ( not that Wilson had a big ego ), that the grass is rarely greener after their time in the spotlight at the Latics.
27 August 2012 at 2:40 pm #92143Grass greener? Think your forgetting the cash element! Wilson Palacios has probably earned 4 x as much as he earned at Wigan over the last few years so am sure he won’t be regretting the move!
27 August 2012 at 3:00 pm #92144And he looks 4 times as big also!
27 August 2012 at 3:48 pm #92145Moving to Stoke was a disaster from day 1 – not surprised.
Talents wasted at Stoke.
Would have been much better off back at Wigan (money aside…), anywhere else for that matter.
Had a cracking first season at Spurs, … derailed by brother issue
27 August 2012 at 4:03 pm #92147Why is there a such a clamour to resign former players. They had their time here and decided to move on to “better” themselves, however you wish to define that. The fact that they are now surplus to requirements at other clubs says it all really.

Personal opinion, of course.
27 August 2012 at 4:57 pm #92152Think we should know by now that premier league players are only after one thing! Most players that have left have gone backwards whilst their bank balances have gone upwards!

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!27 August 2012 at 10:59 pm #92160I think we’re being a bit harsh on Palacios because, from memory, he never asked to leave Wigan. Wasn’t it the fact that Tottenham offered us stupid money for him that we couldn’t turn down the reason that he left? I don’t remember him asking for a transfer and the move seemed to hack off a certain Mr Bruce who left us that same summer?
27 August 2012 at 11:50 pm #92161Very true JR. Lots of our fans dont realise what a rare breed Roberto is! His integrity is pretty much unparalleled in the modern game and his love for the club/Mr Whelan can never be doubted. Across the country when the bigger clubs come calling every player and Manager seems to go but not our Bobby.
28 August 2012 at 4:06 am #92164Think some are harsh on Palacios really. He made 86 appearances for Spurs in 3 years and played in the QF of the Champions League. He certainly didn’t go and warm the bench or sit in the stands.
